Rome Food Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

this was one of the most fun (and informative tours) we've ever taken. We went to a part of Rome we've never been to, known as the 'foodie' part of Rome, and sampled food and wine of many different varieties. Sarah, our guide was amazing. This was not only great fun, but surprisingly educational. I'd do it again.

Skip the Line: Borghese Gallery and Gardens Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

This was one of the best tours I've ever taken. Our guide, Georgia was fantastic, both knowledgable and funny. The gallery is wonderful, but you really need a guide to best understand it, find the hidden treasures, etc. Our kids (college-aged) were intially reluctant but admitted afterward that this may have been the best art museum they've ever been to. Ask for Georgia!

Afternoon Tivoli Trip from Rome: Villa d'Este and Hadrian's Villa
Rome, Italy
My Rating

This was definitely worth doing, a hidden find. Both Villa d'Este and Hadrian's Villa were very interesting, but there were few tourists, which was great. You really need a guide to get the best benefit of both destinations. As good luck would have it, we had Georgia for both our morning tour (Borghese Gallery) and this one, so we were fast friends by the end of the day and had drinks afterward. She's both very knowledgable and very funny. Ask for Georgia!

Fabulous. Terry from WOW tours was informative and entertaining. He had information you're not likely to get on any other tour.

El Escorial Monastery and the Valley of the Fallen from Madrid
Madrid, Spain
My Rating

The monastery was great. The tour guide was not. She clearly didn't care about being a tour guide, didn't talk during the trip, seemed bored and didn't even introduce herself. In contrast, our other tour guides this week gave us some history, anecdotes, politics etc and made the trip much more interesting. With an unemployment rate of 21% in Spain (learned from one of the other tour guides) certainly Julia Travel can find a tour guide more interested in doing his/her job.

Luisella was fabulous. This was a great tour. The only thing that was misleading was that we didn't skip the line. Luckily, it was short.
