The driver was on time and gave us a little extra time to have coffee and pastries before we departed for the airport. No problems here.

Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
My Rating

A most wonderful day trip to Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi. The weather was a bit cloudy, but all-in-all, it was an unrivaled view of the Italian coastline, The driver and tour guide were knowledgeable and made the trip a success. One sour note: someone along the trip recorded my credit card information and used it to charge over $1,000 to my card before I could get it discontinued. Travelers - watch your charge purchases closely for fraudulent charges. That was the only fly in the ointment of an otherwise awesome day trip.

Small-Group Cooking Lesson in Roman Countryside
Rome, Italy
My Rating

David was a perfect driver, host and instructor. He took us to the stores in the very picturesque village of Mazzano, where we purchased the ingredients for the meals we prepared, with his capable help. We drank wine, cooked, laughed, took oodles of photos, then ate what we prepared. This was a real treat. We will learn how to cook those pasta dishes without butter, however. A fun and educational time.

Rome Squares and Fountains Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Just enough guidance and time at each piazza and fountain to give us ideas about what to do upon our return. Our favorite spot is the Piazza Navono, where we spent several hours over two days enjoying the weather, meals, artists and other tourists. Another wonderful photo op.

Panoramic Rome by Night Tour and Dinner in Trastevere
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Memorable was the Trevi Fountain by night and the delightful Italian meal in a small restaurant. This is a "been there, done that" sort of experience if you want to dine where the locals dine. Language was no problem and the evening was well-spent.

Papal Audience Ticket at Vatican City
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Because of the rain, the audience was held indoors in a hall that seats 3,000 pilgrims and visitors easily. Everything, including the Pope's address, were projected on a big screen so that everyone could see and hear this delightful experience. This is a must do.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica Half-Day Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Everything I'd always dreamed of seeing and experiencing and more. I just wish we'd had more time for the Vatican Museum, but we were on tour with time limits everywhere. Seeing the Sistine Chapel for the first time was breathtaking. The restored Sistine fresco paintings had been one of the items in my "bucket list" for decades. Now that I've seen it personally, I want to go back and see it again.

Rome Hop-on Hop-off Double Decker Bus Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

My companion and I got separated when I stepped off the bus to buy bottles of water and the bus departed. It wouldn't stop to let my companion come back to me, nor would the attendant help my companion find me. She was very upset and went back to the hotel to try to locate me. Part of the problem was that we were not cautioned to tell the bus driver if we intended to step off the bus only momentarily. Eventually, my companion and I reconnected and rejoined the tour vowing not to get off the bus for any reason. As it turned out, being on the tour later in the evening meant fewer tourists competing for seats and the view. Some of the driver/attendant combinations are definitely NOT tourist friendly.
