Skip the Line: Venice Walking Tour with St Mark's Basilica

My Review: Our local guide Louisella was fantastic - she shared lots of the city's history, was very friendly and engaging.
The tour was a very relaxed pace and Louisella took us to some of the lesser known parts of the city and away from the crowds. Highly recommend this tour for a first trip to Venice.
The only down side was that the basilica was closed on the day of our tour (there was warning with the booking that this may be possible) however the price of the tour remained the same.

My Review: Our guide Bridget and driver Dino were both great. Bridget had heaps of local knowledge, was very enthusiastic and engaging. It was great to have the travel details arranged and the coach was very comfortable, however the tour group was very large and when it came to entering the 2 castles the large group sizes made it difficult to move around in the small rooms and appreciate the Interior for what it was. It also felt a little rushed as we only had about 35 minutes inside each castle, but this was still a great tour.

My Review: Our guide Jeff was great and because it was a small group he was happy to focus some of the ride on whatever the group wanted. We got to ride to the outskirts of the city and see more of the parklands and river than what might be included in a typical city ride. Easy pace for all types of riders.

My Review: The coach was very comfortable and the tour was only a small group. Our guide Elisabeth was very friendly and knowledgable, however the information was at times a little repetitive.
The local guide who provided the walking tour was fantastic.
An easy way to have a quick trip to Budapest.

My Review: Our tour guide was quite dull and uninterested during this tour. It was all rehearsed with no passion and very minimal information. Also, our tour was mixed with a german tour so it became multi-lingual. This wasted a LOT of time repeating everything in english, then german... and the tour still finished 20 minutes early! We could have done this tour self-guided with a map and our lonely planet book. Unfortunately a waste of money.

My Review: Our guide Carlos was fantastic - very knowledgable in regards to the city's most famous but sometimes misunderstood landmarks and was very willing and able to answer all questions.
Highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Berlin.

My Review: The company seemed a little disorganised and the tour left quite a bit later than scheduled, however the guide was good showing us around and talking about the sights.
Cycling in Amsterdam is quite hectic so it was good to have a guide to lead the way.

My Review: Great tour showing highlights of the city - perfect for an introduction to Paris, however tour info says it includes Arc de Triomphe and Charmps Élysées but we did not get to see either on the tour. Our guide Travis was very knowledgable and friendly.

London to Stonehenge Shuttle Bus & Independent Day Trip

My Review: Stonehenge is a great place to visit, the mystery of the place is worth the visit alone - there has to be a better way to get there though! Our bus driver for the afternoon tour on May 1st 2011 was fatigued to the point of being unfit to drive. On two occasions on the way there he veered across from the left lane to the centre lane of the express way after having a "micro-sleep" - it was dumb luck that we didn't crash. On numerous occasions he crossed the ripple strips which served to wake him temporarily. Also, he nearly crashed in the rear of a military Jeep that he was trying to overtake after suddenly and inexplicably veering left just to the rear of the Jeep. He was constantly yawning, stretching, slumping over the wheel, opening his window for more fresh air and drinking heaps of water in an effort to stay awake - classic signs of fatigue. On the way back he wasn't any better. Constantly slowing from 60mph to 45-50mph for no apparent reason other than he was struggling to stay awake and concentrate on driving. I was sitting in the front seat and 3 times was about to jump up and grab the wheel as we veered about on the road as the driver lost focus. This was a nerve-wracking trip, a terrible experience and an example of an unprofessional tour company in full flight. The icing on the cake was when the driver put out a little basket at the end of the tour asking for TIPS! If you value your wellbeing, find another way to get to Stonehenge. ** maybe other drivers are different, but I can only review the experience that I had.

Cinque Terre Hiking Day Trip from Florence

My Review: This was absolutely the highlight of our trip so far. Hiking was the best way to see this amazing area - it was well paced allowing plenty of opportunity to take in the spectacular scenery as well as explore each of the towns. Lunch was a great opportunity to sample the local specialities and our fantastic guide Marco even took us to a wine tasting at the end. A long day but absolutely worth it!

My Review: The sights in this tour were amazing, however we felt the organization of the tour left a bit to be desired. The tour didn't even start until 40 minutes later (not due to security/line delays) -waiting for 20+ minutes during a toilet stop at the start is not a good use of the tour time. We felt as though the guide was rushing us through the sights and it felt like we were missing out on seeing some things. On the positive side, this was definitely worth the money to skip the line and having seen the even longer lines towards noon (even for the tour groups) we would definitely recommend the morning session.

My Review: First of all the cost of the tour was well worth it just being able to skip the long queues but having a guide for these areas was a must as there were so many details that could have been missed on our own. Our guide Sara was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. The tour was well paced, ensuring we saw everything as promised while allowing opportunities for photos and questions. A great introduction to the history of ancient Rome.
