Chichen Itza and Mayan Square and Cenote
Travel Recommendation
Location: Cancun
My Recommendation Tip:
What a nice trip! Picked up on time at Riviera Maya and taken to office to catch bus with others! Slight wait but when we were on the road, had to wait for possible "late family" on the roadside, so we lost 15 minutes at the cenote/Keyote, so unable to have time to take a swim. What a beautiful natural swimming hole. A lot of history on the rituals of the region. The drive to the Yucatan was wonderful, a very knowledgeable guide talked the entire route of the Mayan history and culture.Stopped at a Mayan village to shop and for lunch with some local dancers as entertainers. We were lucky to find a local Mayan woodworker on items at the time, so we bought a beautiful piece by the artist himself! Lunch was good and the entertainment fun. Plenty of local vendors to choose from. Off to the Chichen Itza and the holy ground. Our guide was very educated and knowledgeable of the history. Location was wonderful and historical and crowded. Plenty of vendors to choice from to bargain with from woodworking to pottery to carvings to silver and clothing and blankets. Many locals selling their wares. The ride home was quiet and peaceful and the tour service arranged for a shuttle to meet us enroute to cut our return back to Cancun and make it easier for us as the day was a 12 hour day for us. It was a worthy excursion and professinally done. We would highly recommend it.

Chichen Itza Day Trip from Cancun
Tour / Activity
Location: Cancun, Mexico
My Review: It was a wonderful experience. We were picked up on time in Riviera Maya and taken to the booking office. After a bit of a delay and wait, we were joined with others in our bus and took off for the wonderful experience of the Keyote in the Yucatan. It was mysitcal, history explained by out guide. Beautiful scenery.. Unfortunately cur trip was cut short by 15 min as we waiting along roadside enroute for a family who were late for the bus. But still worth thte experience. Wish we had longer, not enough time to take a swim!
Next stop was the Mayan village for lunch and shopping. Nice items on display. We were lucky to see an elder woodworking, so we purchased directly from him, our local artist. A nice flavorful buffet lunch accompanied by talented local mayan dancers. A nice treat! Next was off to Chichen Itza to see the pyramid and the holy grounds. They will filled with locals hawking their wares, maybe a little touristy, but our guide was educated in the history of the area and the tombs and was very informative. Plenty of vendors to haggle with and buy local wares from carvings, to pottery, to blankets to silver and stonework. A nice peaceful ride back.As we were staying in Riviera Maya, a shuttle met the bus giving us a much needed shorter tripback to the hotel. A full packed day, a lot of history and Maya culture. A very good trip. I would recommend it. Well worth the trip.Pleasant dirvers and educated guides.

London Pass
Tour / Activity
Location: London, United Kingdom
My Review: Although it appears a good deal for the value, i.e. beating the lines, a good thought. Unless you can visit the minimum of 4 places in one day, it doesnt pay. A typical visit to a prime location takes at least 1. 5 - 2 hours to visit and enjoy and there is only so many hours in a day.
FYI You do not beat the lines in Westminster Abbey, nor at the Royal Jewels in the Tower of London, where the lines are very long. No discount or beating the quews at the London Eye either... each/most attractions are only 16 pounds, so do your math before you purchase....

Small Group Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath Day Trip from London
Tour / Activity
Location: London, United Kingdom
My Review: This was the best trip ever. Our Guide Damien and driver Phil made the day extra special and kept us right on target. Windsor Castle was magnificent, Stonehenge fascinating, lunch at the small turn of the century pub delicious and the tour at Bath informative and special. There was ample time at each location, although you could easily spend more time in Windsor, but we felt we saw everything and weren't too rushed. Our guide was very informative on the way up and back about the areas we passed through and English history and the countryside was a nice change from the city.
The tour thru Windsor is self guided, so you go at your own pace and we were lucky as the changing of the guard was there that day. Stonehenge is self guided and beautiful and woth the trip. But it is a bit windy. Lunch in Lacock was where Harry Potter scenes were filmed and so turn of the century, with some free time there, great for photos. The Roman bath tour also self guided but introduced by our Centurian informative and a lot of history. The town of bath itself has a wonderful glass blowing shop specialty of aqua glass. Some free time to tour the plaza and shops. The day was complete and wonderful. Premium Tours the best value and a nice long, full day and kind enough to drop us close enough for a short cab ride back to our hotel.
