Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This was probably the worst tour I've ever taken (and I've taken a lot). Just like all the other 1-2 star reviewers have said, the "guide" is really a driver. Our guide (Nareem or Nahim), was very condescending. We tried to make conversation but everything we said seemed like an annoyance to him as if we were an inconvenience or he acted as if he knew everything in Malaysia and how dare we ask such stupid questions? At one point he told us to do our research. Thanks guy, then why do we need you?! We tried to ask him about Hinduism knowing that he was Hindu but basically got nothing useful from him. The gist of what he said was "there are a lot of Gods, like the God of Wealth, if you want money, pray to him." Yes, thank you. Again, VERY useful and you did not even answer our question. I'm so glad, we are in this tour. --sarcasm here.
It started raining during our climb and he had an umbrella in his van. We had a tour guide in Penang who was totally the opposite of this guy. When he knew it was going to rain, he took an umbrella with him and gave us an umbrella during a light drizzle. Instead, this A-hole, knowing full well it was "moonsoon season" as he mentioned while we got in DRENCHED during our climb down, did not offer such convenience.

Yes, definitely would recommend this tour. Make sure you come hungry and pace yourselves! Our guide, Farrah, was really good. She took us to 4 different places focusing on the 3 dominant types of cuisines in Malaysia and 1 extra place for our spicy lovers; Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian local hawker centers. The tour took a bit to pick up as the traffic was pretty heavy in the area and we had to wait for a couple of people running late.
Also, we were staying near the KLCC and took a metered taxi for ~52 ringgit and took us about an hour to meet our guide. Another couple from our tour took the LRT and paid ~4.20 ringgit and only took them about 20 minutes to get to the same place. :). Traffic in KL is also really bad so make sure you don't make the same mistake as we did. That's the only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars, it's a little bit away from the center. Our tour guide also drove us back when we were done, which wasn't really required for her to do so. So, thank you, Farrah! We had a great time!
We were EXTREMELY happy with this tour! We had Moy (sorry if I butchered your name), and he was a very excellent tour guide. We paid for the group tour but there were only 2 of us. He said the rest were still sleeping (even though it was 2 pm) :). He was very informative, pointing out landmarks and buildings on the way to the Temple and Penang Hill. As we stopped at these places, he always greeted one or 2 locals, which was nice to see. You can tell his friendliness wasn't an act. Also, he was very prepared with 2 umbrellas when he saw the rain clouds come in. Luckily, it didn't rain (just a light drizzle) but still it was nice to see that he took care of his guests. At one point, he chatted up with the train conductor and we actually got to see his switchboard. Pretty neat. Definitely would do another tour with Moy again!
