The trip was all that it was advertised to be. The river portion was wonderful. From the boat you can get an amazingly different perspective on the sights of the city (including people sitting on the river banks) that you can't get any other way.
The bus tour was okay. It was a general purpose bus tour where you wear headsets and listen to what they are telling you. We had a double decker bus and sitting upstairs gave another totally different view of the sights.

Getting to add in White Church to our already packed trip was great. The walk around the area with the guide (who had a great sense of humor) was great fun and informative.
The only down side was that we were off the bus for a mere 90 min and 30 of that was spent at a restaurant resting from walking four blocks... and the fact that by the time we got to the fish and chips place at the end of the tour, they were closed except for seating at the already packed bar and there was not opportunity to actually get any food.

The taxi ride through London was great.
King's Cross's Platform 9 3/4 (with the current renovation of the station) is an incredible joke. We were expecting to "get" to dress in robes and that didn't happen... and the biggest deal was that half the time the driver/tour guide was answering his phone and telling everyone how busy he was going to be with all of the tours he had to take care of and we were left in the middle of town because he was SO busy that he didn't have time to drop us anywhere else of his next tour would be let down. His humor was great and finding out about his life was a redeeming feature, but I was left with more of a feeling that we were putting him out by taking up his valuable time.

Yawn.
It is a barely marginal haunted house. The London Bridge Experience is kind of informative and interesting, but nothing that is so redeeming that the haunted house part of it is worth the money

Must Do.
David was a great tour guide. His jokes wore thin at times and the fact that he picked out three people on the tour and seemed to focus on talking to them most of the time while letting the rest of us eavesdrop got irritating at times, but I think I put this down to a difference in culture more than anything else.
He put far more into our tour than we expected to be able to get in and we had the most fabulous lunch in the most amazing tiny little pub. The food was to die for and the trip went far faster than the 13 hours should have felt like.
David, being a teacher, had an amazing amount of information to dole out in entertaining stories and with so much background side facts that there was never a dull moment on the trip.
I would take another tour with him in a heartbeat and the fact that he remembered my son and called him by name when they passed (four days later) at the Tower of London (we were on our own tour at the time and David was leading another group) was a nice touch.

The adventure was what we expected it to be. The line for the Eye was not what we expected... we waited for over an hour to get on the eye so be aware that you need to pencil in sufficient time to get this done. It is worth doing the eye.

dinner was excellent, the show wasn't what we expected but was a great and happy surprise.
