Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade with Dinner

My Review: We really enjoyed the gondola ride and Serenade with dinner afterward in Venice. The the dinner that followed was a good ending for the day. It was a little difficult to locate the starting point of the gondola ride given the location of our small hotel, and the number of other gondola companies we passed en route. The restaurant was within easy walking distance of our gondola ride. The experience of the gondola ride and the singing was very enjoyable.

My Review: This tour experience was very disappointing. The Green Line office in Rome where we started most of the tours which we booked with Viator, changed us to another bus company for this tour. The transportation was good, but the guide spoke limited English and spent most of his time narrating in either Spanish, German, or speaking Italian, and gave very short and curt narration in English so we felt like we missed a lot of what he was talking about. Bacically you really couldn't call it an Enghish speaking tour.The wine tasting consisted of the guide taking is to a Taverna , one of many in the town near where we were served a small plate of coldcuts and two tiny cups of wine--one red and one white. The wine was poor quality and he didn't even explain anything about which winery it was from. He said townspeople ate at this Taverna for a cheap night out! Then he hearded us all back on the bus for our quick trip back to Rome. Although this tour was to include transportation to our hotel upon conclusion, the bus driver refused to take us there, and drove to the Green Line Station and told us to get off the bus, and walk back to our hotel. We are both just shy of 70 years old and after doing the tour were tired and it was raining. We would not recommend this tour to anyone because for the price we paid for both of us to do the tour, we were taken advantage of as far as tje "wine"tasting excursion and transportation to and from our hotel which was not deiivered. Since this was our last day in Rome, it was not a good way to spend it.

Ancient Ostia Small Group Day Trip from Rome

My Review: This was a great tour but required a lot of walking on uneven surfaces in Ostica. The site is about 25% excavated. Our guide was excellent and very informative. He met us promptly at the train station and stayed with us until we returned there after the tour. He appeared to enjoy his job. His English was good.

My Review: Our guide spoke english well and three other languages, but took enough time in each so we felt like we had a good narrative. The tour was crowded due to Easter weekend but we didn't have to wait long to see anything.

My Review: We enjoyed this tour even though we couldn't go inside of the Collosium. The was a lot of walking and stairs involved in this tour but the pace was slow enough to rest in between sights. Our guide did a good job.
