Although it's a very long day we thought it was well worth it to get a glimpse of Capri.
We got picked up at our hotel, even though it wasn't on the list of hotels on the site, at 6.45am in a mini bus and was taken to meet the coach. It's quite a long drive but we had a coffee stop and went through beautiful countryside. Everything went very smoothly transferring to the hydrofoil and onto a small local bus on Capri for the hair raising ride to Anacapri. The views driving up on the very narrow road are fantastic but it is a little nerve racking the speed they go at on such a narrow winding road with a drop at the side of it.
We didn't go to the Blue Grotto as we would rather have longer looking round and enjoying a nice cool drink in the 100 degree heat.
The included lunch was a bit chaotic because not only our group but also several other groups converged on the restaurant within minutes of each other. There was pasta or rice followed by meat or fish and ice cream. The pasta was very nice but as we didn't have meat or fish I can't comment on it. Drinks are not included and, even though our guide had told us all this, some people forgot and accepted the offered drinks and then got a shock when they had to pay for them.
We went back down to Marina Grande and had some spare time there before getting the hydrofoil back to Naples for the drive back to Rome.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it but I think they need to more honest about the time you get back to Rome. The website says start time 7.30 am and duration about 13 hours. The start time was correct but by the time we got back to Rome and started dropping people off it was already 10pm. We asked to be dropped off before our hotel as it was already 10.30 and we knew we wouldnt't be able to get food there. We got off at Piazza Navona and went for a pizza.
Well worth doing the trip.
Booking skip the line tickets saved us a very long queue but it was very disorganised when we got to the arranged meeting place to go into the Vatican with the rep to get our tickets.
Other than that we were very glad not to have to be in the long line to get in. The artwork in the museums is amazing and worth seeing but the Sistine Chapel is so crowded and you are herded in and out so not the most pleasurable experience. Very reasonably priced food and drink inside which did surprise me as most place with a captive audience make you pay a premium. Interesting but so much to see in one trip that it's very tiring.
London, United Kingdom
Booked London Zoo tickets in advance of our visit and saved £5 each on the price at the gate. It was basically what we expected and the only disappointment was that due to the weather being very cold for the beginning of April a lot of the bigger animals were keeping warm out of view. Still enjoyed it though.
New York City, New York
A fabulous night altogether. The food was very good and it was nice to have the music in the background but not overbearing. There's nothing worse than having to shout to be heard over loud music. The server's were very attentive and you were never left waiting long for drinks. The views were magnificent, especially as it got darker, and we got some fantastic photographs. We had a private window table and it was well worth the extra for the uninterupted views. Would definitely recommend this dinner cruise.
Fantastic views over Paris. Was slightly disappointed that the open air viewing terrace was closed so we only got to look and take pictures through glass. Also pleasantly surprised by the prices at the cafe. We were expecting to be ripped off but they were very fair with their prices on food and drink.
Note from Viator
Thanks for your honest feedback. Montparnasse Tower are currently renovated the roof terrace so access is restricted. All visitors can continue to enjoy all that the 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower Paris has to offer. The rooftop will re-open in mid June 2011.
Well worth the money and time to orient yourself with the main sites and decide which you want to go back to for a better look. Would definitely book with them again for future trips to both Paris and other cities.
