Booking online and coordinating with the local tour company once we were in Cancun was very easy and we encountered no issues whatsoever. They arrived on time and all the items on the itinerary were as expected. This is a great visit to see the ruins; we were amazed at how many buildings there were. It is much hotter inland so bring water or money with you to purchase drinks while there - you will need it! A lot of walking, but worth it.
There were A LOT of vendors so if you are looking for souvenirs, bring your pesos or single dollars along, best bargain outside of the city and you will see the same items at the airport for a lot more.
We were traveling with two kids ages 10 and 7 and they enjoyed it, but the bus trip is long so make sure you have activities for them on the bus. I would have been happy to skip the local lunch buffet and brought something from the hotel as the food was okay, not a big offering for kids and they had food at the ruins and the cenote.
The cenote was really great to see and the boys did swim. Water was cool but enjoyable. They have nice changing facilities, souvenir shops and snacks. This would have been a good place to stop and get food items versus stopping again for lunch.
Our guide Carlos, aka Charlie Brown was great!. He gave us a lot of information on the ride there as well as during our tour. He had a good sense of humor and was the same guide for our other tour during the week. We learned a lot on this tour and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning about history.
