New Orleans, Louisiana
Thought this was a little cheeky but nonetheless it was very ientertaining. Our guide knew Nola history like the back of his handand that alone made for a very interesting tour. Really enjoyed it. Couple of things to know... Take water. They sell ice cold water at the meeting point for $1 so you can purchase some if you forget but don't attempt this night tour without it, especially in the summer. Even though they pass out little flat paper fans, dress accordingly humidity rates are high there and oppressive. Wear tennis shoes.
I love bike tours. Try to do one in every city I visit. This was so fun and educational. Our guide was safety minded and yet fun and informative. The South had such a shameful yet colorful history, it helps to understand why people thought the way they did back then and why things are built as they were. Sara knew all the tidbits, sharing them at the generous number of stops and points of interest. Would do it again as I'm sure we missed something.
Absolutely wonderful is how I would describe our bike tour. Our guide stopped often and gave us great stories behind the sights we saw. We rode brand new Schwinn Hybrids. Cruiser style with comfortable seats yet more gears than we could ever use in very flat Chicago. Our ride was about 10 miles and took over 3 hours but was easy as far as activity level goes. Great experience. I plan to do another of their tours next time I'm there, which is often :-)
