This was a good highlight tour, it fit the max in a short visit to each site. While we enjoyed our day I don't think we would do all three in one day again. Time contstraints were constant. We got an impression at each site not the full experience and with Christmas traffic trip back was 4.5 hours

In the winter if you arrive when the Eye opens there is no need for the skip the line option. At 10 am opening we walked right on.

Citicruise ships do not have a guide and the older ships are tired and a bit dirty. Would recommend a more expensive guided tour.

We went with Steve who was a wonderful guide. He struck just the right note on what could have been a very difficult tour to conduct. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

This tour is expensive but given the remote location understandably so. In addition to what you pay for the tour, there is an another 16 euro charge per person to actually get up the mountain to the Eagles Nest. It might be better if this were incorporated into the fee as several passengers seemed to be taken off guard by the supplemental charge. Also, if you are the type that gets motion sick on buses be aware that the last 45 minutes of the trip are on local (non Autobahn) roads that twist and wind through the mountains.
The tour leaves from Munich and there is a nearly two hour bus ride each way, so it would be good to have a knowledgeabe guide who can provide information/historical context on the day's sights before you reach Berchtesgade. Bridget our lovely and friendly guide on this tour made it clear that her expertise was in the history of King Ludwig II and his castles. We got the feeling that she had been assigned to this tour with out much training. Others on the bus were offereing greater detail about the history and use of the Eagle's Nest than our guide could provide. With so much "down" time on the bus, a guide that can keep the passengers engaged and informed would be helpful.
That said the bus was clean, comfortable and timely the only negative was the lack of experience/knowlege of this tour demonstrated by the guide.

We went with Mort on this tour. Mort made the subject come alive. Although many of the sights no longer exist, he had pictures with him and was able to tell the story in such a way that the history came alive. He was very patient with our questions and gave us some unique personal perspective. We would recommend the tour.

This was the standard hop on hop off tour. Bus stops were clearly marked and on/off process was efficient. Good way to get an overview of the city when you first arrive and are jet lagged!
