Having just completed a 30 day tour with APT - bus for Italy and river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam, our expectations were no doubt high. the half day trip was a bit disappointing and did not live up to those expectations.. We naively did not take into account a bus loaded with non English speaking tourista and crying babies. This is not the tour operators problem but such a situation does dampen the experience and enjoyment. The places visited were OK but felt we were on a "production line, rather than visiting interesting places. In addition the guide was less than satisfactory.

Everything turned out to be just as good as advertised - except maybe for the masses that also had the same idea.
But overall, was an excellent experience.

Excellent. It was everything that was promised although one was not quite prepared for the crowds that were endured.
