Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This activity involved a lot of stair climbing. We saw parts of the colosseum that we could not have seen unless we were on this or a similar tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was also good not to have to wait in a long line to enter.

Skip the Line: Crypts and Roman Catacombs Small Group Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This tour was interesting and involved 3 separate components. Consequently most people can find some part of the tour that they find fascinating. The tour guide was reasonably knowledgeable.

Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este Half-Day Trip from Rome
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This tour was very disappointing. We saw very little of Hadrian's Villa (but there didn't seem a lot to see). The Villa d'Este was very interesting and would have enjoyed more time to see the garden and actual villa. The tour was probably worth doing just to see the d'Este gardens. The tour guide was not knowledgeable at all.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: The guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. Early entry was good and we generally managed to avoid the crowds, especially the long lines to enter. I would strongly recomment this tour.

Skip the Line: Uffizi Gallery and Vasari Corridor Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Florence, Italy
My Review: The guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. I don't think I ever want to go to a gallery again without a guide to explain and show me what my eyes are not seeing. The Gallery was crowded by that didn't impact negatively on the tour. The Corridor was amazing. Unfortunately we had to spend extra time in the Corridor because there was a group of diplomats in front of us and we couldn't move any faster. This was not the fault of the guide. This is an excellent tour, if possible not to be missed.

Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden Tour from Salzburg
Tour / Activity
Location: Salzburg, Austria
My Review: This tour was well organised. It is worth travelling to Eagles Nest for the history of the area and the view. Though we were given strict timelimes for each section of the tour, there was plenty of time to enjoy what you were doing and the participants could understand why those timelines were necessary. We certainly didn't feel rushed. The scenery is magnificant.

Neuschwanstein Castle Small Group Day Tour from Munich
Tour / Activity
Location: Munich, Germany
My Review: Seeing Neuschwanstein Castle is probably a must for most people travelling in Bavaria. It is worth visiting. The stories about the characters which had inhabited the castle are even more interesting. The American guide was experienced but probably more interested and more oriented toward the younger (teens and 20 year olds) members in the group. This is not a "small group tour" as there were probably about 30 people in the tour group. It is a lengthy trip with long periods travelling by train. We didn't return to Munich until after 7:00pm. The tour involves a lot of walking and climbing.

Paris Ghost and Mystery Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Paris, France
My Review: The guide was excellent. This isn't just about ghost stories but also other engaging tales (not necessarily true). It is more like "street theatre" or going to a show while walking the streets of Paris. We are glad we didn't miss it. Don't go expecting to be frightened - but definitely expect to be totally entertained. It was a long night as we didn't finish until almost 12 midnight - but worth it. Eat before you go. Also take water with you, though you do have a break (intermission?) and a chance to sit down in a restaurant and buy a drink.
