The guide Sal was fun. The island was much bigger than we really thought. The trip to the coffee plantation was more of a pit stop. The black sand beach and the volcano were the best part of the trip. We had time at the different spots at the volcano to explore some. The beach was beautiful. Wish we had more time there. If we go back, I think I would focus on the volcano. The rest of the trip was more of a bus tour (viewing the island from a bus). Rainbow falls was nice but we had 15 minutes. We did get to stop at the orchid place but like the candy factory and the macademian nut factory, it was more of a shop than of interest. Neither of the latter two were in operation when we got there. Also, their current lunch place is on the pricey side.
The tour did give us a good overview of the island and if it were your first time and wanted to see what was available, it was worth it. We did have the discounted price.

My Rating
For me this was the highlight of our short trip to the big island. The food was plentiful and good. The entertainment was well presented. The line to get in and to get the initial bar drinks were slow but once everyone was in it became much better. The line for the buffet moved quickly as they had six lines moving.
The MC was great. He explained the different types of dances. The dancers were fun to watch. The fire dance was outstanding.

Good drivers and they were there when we landed. It took some time to leave from the airport but I am glad we used them to get to the hotel as I was tired and it wwas dark.

It is a good bargain if you plan to see a lot of places in a day. We saw Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, the Tower of London, and took the boat back to Westminster. If you plan to spend exceeding long periods at each place then it is not worth it but if you plan to do lots while you in town, it is a must.

First bring a plastic slicker because it rains. The guide (Chris) was very knowledgeable and personable. It was not as spectacular as we thought but did see a lot of wildlife including wallabies.
