The trip was great and worth the money.
We were picked up at 7:30 AM and by the time we left Cancun it was nearly 9-9:15 AM.
Its quite a journey but the buses are very comfy, air conditioned and have a restroom onboard.
Our guide Antonio was awesome. He had a great sense on humor and enlightened us with lot of info abt Mayans and giving a bkgrnd of Chichen Itza. He spoke in both Spanish and English.
On the way, we were stopped at a souvenir shop for about 30 mins. the shops were over expensive but me and my wife didnt complain much.
By the time we reached Chichen Itza, it was around noon and we were directly taken to the Hotel for lunch. The food incl authentic mayan dishes and we were entertained with some Mayan dance while we ate our food. That was a nice touch. We were vegetarians and had limited option but we compensated with plenty of fruits and desserts:).
We were then taken to the site and were split into Spanish and English groups. I was hoping to see Antonio continue but unfortunately we were assigned another local guide on the site.
The guide was pretty knowledgeable and loaded us with lot of info for the next 1.25 hrs taking us to diff sections of the site. At places where it was difficult to imagine what he talked, he had pics handy for us to catchup with him. We were left to explore the site by ourselves for the next 1.5hrs. We were then taken to a cenote which was beautiful. We were back in Cancun by 8:30 PM. It was overall a GREAT trip and a MUST SEE.
