Potsdam Day Bike Tour

Berlin, Germany

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

We took the Potsdam bike tour the day before we left Berlin ...our only regret was that we didn't take some of the other Fat Tire bike tours earlier in our week-long visit. Derek, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and informative. He had a great sense of humor, was charismatic and took the time to ask the members of the group their names (and not as a "sign-in" activity). Given the number of tours my husband and I have taken over the year, we noted that this was the first time any of the tour guides bothered to ask names during lengthy conversations - a small gesture which impressed us greatly. As Dale Carnegie's Principle #6 pointed out: "Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language". Potsdam was very lovely and the overall trip was loads of fun. Please note, however, that you will need cash for the beer garten lunch as they do not take credit cards. Also, they did not have any vegetarian options for those of you who don't eat meat. The garden in on the water and offers a beautiful view.

Northern Ireland including Giant's Causeway Rail Tour from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This is another superb Railtour of Ireland tour ... lasting about 14 hours, the day is filled with one breathtaking view after another. The best part was the coach drive along the Glens of Antrim ... our coach driver, Dave, was very informative and had a quirky sense of humor ... and although the Giant Causeway is great, we highly recommend crossing the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge for a nominal fee (not included in tour) ... the view from the sea cliff is mesmerizing ... We will upload pictures soon ...

Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Burren and Galway Bay Rail Tour from Dublin

My Review

This was a phenomenal tour with Railtours of Ireland ... our tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable, humorous, and talkative ;) .... We enjoyed Bunratty Castle and small village ... you must try the homemade scones fresh from the ovens ... quite delectable! Although I had lost my cell phone before departing for the 15-hr tour, John was very helpful in contacting the hotel and train station for me and putting my mind at ease so that my husband and I could still enjoy this wonderful tour. If you visit Dublin, it is so important to also take some day tours around the country. Ireland's beautiful coasts and lovely countryside is must-see in our opinions. We would definitely go back and use Viator to book with Railtours again.

Kilkenny City and Glendalough Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

A wonderful tour well worth taking ... we learned a lot about the area from our tour guide and enjoyed walking around St. Kevin's Monastery. Kilkenny City was fabulous ... there are numerous historical sites to visit in this small region. We recommend taking the train loop around the town (about 30 mins), taking pictures at Kilkenny Castle, and passing on the castle tour if you wish to see more of the city's sites during the short duration of your time there. The inside of the castle has been restored and there is much to see and learn; however, it does take a good bit of time there.
