Krakow Half-Day Tour by Trabant

My Review: One of the highlights of my week in Krakow. A fun and different way to see the city. The guide was personable, professional, easy-going and knew alot about Polish history and the history of Krakow. I highly, highly recommend the tour.

Zakopane and Tatras Mountains Day Tour from Krakow

My Review: The guide, Andrew, was really nice and nothing against him at all, but this tour was awful. It is also completely misleading in it's description. We did not visit the Tatra Mountains. Instead they were seen from a crowded hilltop for all of 10 minutes. Probably not a bad thing, since that hilltop was overrun with tourists, cheap souvenirs and some malnourished looking horses waiting to give rides to any poor sucker dumb enough to take the owners up on their offer. The rest of the tour consisted of more than 3 hours to kill, which trapped in the main market or thoroughfare. Absolutely nothing in either place other than more junky stalls of cheap souvenirs (crap, all of it from what I could see) and many restaurants of less than inspiring food. Again, overrun with more or less the same amount of crowds you'd see in Krakow's Old Town. Add to this the 3 hours it took roundtrip to get there and this was by far the biggest waste of time and disappointment of my entire week in Krakow and perhaps even my 10 years of regular trips to Europe. If anyone here has been to Niagara Falls, and in particular Lundy's Lane, that's what Zakopane is like. But without and of the beauty of the falls itself. This tour lacked any nature or beauty completely. I'm still seething at the thought of it.

Wieliczka Salt Mine Half-Day Trip from Krakow

My Review: Very educational and thorough. Excellent local guide. A bit repetitive though in the content and completely lacking in any adventure like the salt mines in Salzburg. Be prepared to walk about 3km and take 800 steps (down) on your own though. Not a problem for most, but the 80 year old couple on my tour really struggled and didn't seem to have known what was involved. I really felt quite bad for them.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum Half-Day Trip from Krakow

My Review: Excellent tour and local guide. Very respectful and professional. Highly recommend. It does stir a lot of emotions and some of the images and artifacts are quite upsetting. Given the nature of the subject that is to be expected and I'm not sure anyone could be properly prepared for it.

Sightseeing Bike Tour of Krakow

My Review: An excellent, fun and informative way to see the city. I was the only person on my tour and the guide made me feel completely comfortable on the bike and throughout the tour. I learned a lot about Polish and Krakow history and hopefully burned some calories to make up for the food i ate over the rest of my stay in Krakow.
