Private Tour: Aix en Provence

My Review: Even though my reservation was for 2 p.m. on Thursday, they didn't arrive because they thought it was for Friday. They arrived over a hour late-and even though the tour was to center on Cezanne, it was very difficult to get the tour guide to do that. He kept wanting to discuss the architectural design of Aix-including dragging us to his house to see a reception room. If someone wants a tour of Paul Cezanne (or any local son/daughter), then the guide should follow that on a private tour.

My Review: The worst tour that I have ever taken! Jenny was awful and very disorganized. She had us enter the cemetery from the back entrance and didn't bother to provide use the FREE cemetery maps. She took us to the Columbarium and didn't know one person buried there. She pointed out a niche that she said was evidence of recent entrants. And only after I got back to the US, did I realize that it was a two-time Tour of France winner. She took us out of the way to see some Napoleon general and an innovator of the Metro-but she didn't even point out Sarah Bernhardt, Marcel Marceau, Abelard and Heloise, and so many others. I asked for money back-but have not heard from Viator. Don't bother with this tour unless you want to waste your money and what little time that you have in Paris. I am so disappointed in this tour.

My Review: Gil was great-he not only showed the historical spots where Renoir painted several of his masterpieces as well as where Braque and Picasso lived. But he also showed us examples of current street art and told us about the street art scene. Very informative.
