Rachael the guide brought the Ostia ruins alive with her extensive knowledge of life in Roman times. This was a terrific day spent discovering everyday Roman life in a busy port town

The early start at the Colosseum was good before there were too many crowds. It is essential to have a tour of the Forum to make some sense of the ruins, which are in a poor state.

Extremely worthwhile guided tour to introduce us to the vast collections of the Vatican Museums. Our informative and well organised guide Anna shared some of the history of the Museums, the Popes of the time and St Peter's, as well as pointing out interesting details and information on many of the artworks, sculptures, mosaics, tapestries Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel. And yes, we did skip the long, long lines outside the Vatican Museums.

Wow! This bike tour was the highlight of my trip to Rome. Manuel our guide was fantastic. He navigated us all safely out of Rome's traffic (what an experience that was - riding a bike in Roman traffic!) onto the beautiful, peaceful Appian Way. I enjoyed his observations on the current state of Italy's politics, culture and society as much as his historical information, which was very interesting. And the icing on the cake? Wine and fresh peccorino cheese on a sheep farm reached after cycling through lovely parklands and nature trails. Who'd have thought it could be so rural so close to Rome? A big thank you to Manuel for looking after us so well.
