Malaysia Johore Bahru Half-Day Tour from Singapore
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: There was no commentary provided on the Singapore leg of the trip which would have really enhanced the tour. Considerable time is spent clearing immigration. The tour guide in Malaysia was knowledgeable and interesting, however the condition of the garden was disappointing. The driver was friendly and helpful

Singapore's Chinatown Trishaw Night Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining (Andrew), The trishaw ride, the boat tour and the visit to Chinatown were great. You will need more time in Chinatown if you want to really shop!!! We were disappointed in the restaurant. It was clean and airconditioned however the staff were rather unhelpful and just delivered the meal to the table. The young woman who poured our tea spilled it on three occasions on the table cloth and didn't murmer one word of apology. One of the dishes was sweet and sour fish (the sauce tasted as though it came from a jar) and we were not offered a clean plate for the other courses and the staff were not available to ask. The other courses were very different so the taste was ruined by the rather overwhelming sweet and sour sauce. The dessert was served in a cheap takeaway plastic dish with a plastic spoon! (the desert tasted great) This restaurant was the only place in Singpore where we found the staff to be unhelpful - in fact they looked as though they would have preferred we were not there. The restaurant was not busy. Only one other table (other than the three for the tour group) was occupied. The dinner spoiled an otherwise great tour

Changi WWII War Trail and Museum Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to give a very comprehensive overview of the Changi prison and an overview of the Japanese occupation following the fall of Singapore.

Singapore by Night Tour with Dinner at Clarke Quay
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: The dinner at Clarke Quay was great. Good menu and pleasant helpful despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly busy. I was a little disappointed with Raffles but am really glad I went there. I found the bar far to noisy as they had a live band. The Singapore Sling was great. The visit to the market was too short for any serious shopping but a good way to find what is there for a longer visit on another day

Singapore City Hop-on Hop-off Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: Typical hop on hop off tour. It was a great way to get a quick overview of Singapore. The recorded tour commentary was sometimes difficult to hear and understand and some of the music was uncomfortably loud. I have been on these tours in other cities and found the commentary easier to hear and understand. However this is worth doing and is good value. The staff were helpful.

Singapore Zoo Night Safari Tour with optional Buffet Dinner
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: The concept was great and we could see the animals in the soft lighting. We went on a weekend and had to rush dinner (which was ok but not great), had to wait 45 minutes (standing in a very long line in the heat) for the tram ride which was then rushed. We then only had time for a very rushed 'walk' to the fishing cats. We had no time to see one of the night shows. Also watch the ice cream prices - we paid $17.50 for two ice creams (they tasted really good!). If you want to go I suggest going on a week night and don't have dinner there so there is time to see a show and go on at least one of the walks. The walks are the best way to really experience the animals.
