My Recommendation Tip
Sydney's harbour is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the world and the best way to see is from the water. Whichever way you choose to get on the water, whether it just a ride of the one of the Sydney's ferries, water taxis or one of many lunch and dinner cruises, you will enjoy it, however if you're feeling a little more adventurous, sailing is the way to go! Depending on how much time you have available and how hands-on you want to get, there are many sailing trips to choose from. However the America's Cup Sailing on Sydney Harbour (http://www.viator.com/tours/Sydney/Americas-Cup-Sailing-on-Sydney-Harbour/d357-5267SSO) really stands out from the pack, as it lets you have a taste of the “sport of the rich and the famous” - competitive yacht racing, whilst still being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery that the Sydney Harbour has to offer. Purpose built to compete in the America's Cup the yacht is a truly amazing example of nautical engineering. At over 22 meters long and with its sails raising up to 35 meters in the air, this magnificent water craft towers over the smaller leisure yachts and very few can match its top cruising speed of 20+ knots! The crew were fantastic - all very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. Whatever questions you might have about the vessel itself, the world of competitive sailing or one of the many attractions on the harbour you're sailing past, they will have an answer. If you wish so, they'll even let you steer the yacht! You also get to be a part of the crew and complement your tour with a bit of excise grinding the winches. Pickup and drop off location is also very convenient, just a hundred meters or so from the famous Sydney Aquarium and next to the many fine harbour side restaurants and bars which you can enjoy after the trip.
