Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

We loved the Colosseum. Our tour guide was very sweet and interesting. When my husband could walk no longer and the group went up to the third tier, she stayed with us and chatted. But now we can say that we have been there and seen it in person. How grand it must have been at one time.

Papal Audience Ticket at Vatican City
Rome, Italy
My Rating

What a thrill to see the Pope no matter how far away we were from him. Our guide told us to get near a particular barricade ad the Pope would come right past it. We did, the Pope did not. It was very hot and humid and the crowds were very boisterous. We did not expect the different countries and group to cheer and wave banner and flags and even sing when their group wer named. Not very religious. More political. We would have preferred something a little more subdued and religious.

Ancient Ostia Half-Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Loved our tour of Ostia. The ruins are amazing to see what was accomplished centuries ago without the huge machines used nowadays. Our guide Gorgio? was very knowledgeable and pointed out many things we would not have noticed without him. For instance, we did not know that Ostia translated to "Mouth"

Assisi and Orvieto Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
My Rating

This was the highlight of our trip to Rome. What a beautiful town. It is so clean and gorgeous. We loved the Basilica's and of course seeing where St. Francis is entombed was a thrill. If I were to live in Italy, it would be a town similar to Assisi. But we really have done without the visit to the so called farm whose sole purpose was to sell their wares. Also at lunch when I took a drink from my glass of coke, I got a large clot of something in my mouth which really turned my stomach. Lunch was a big zero. I am giving this tour a 4 star rating because the farm really detracted from the tour.

The art is gorgeous as is St Peter's Basilica. But the crowds made it impossible to really get close to anything and really take in the art. Hard to believe that people can be so pushy and rude in the Vatican. Anna, our guide was wonderful

Skip the Line: Borghese Gallery and Gardens Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Loved the tour of the Gallery. Our guide was great and we felt like we were able to enjoy the art. But what happened to the so called tour of the gardens? We whipped past the first one behind the gallery and then were only allowed a peek through the fence into the others. We certainly did not get our hours worth of Garden. Also we went to lunch at the little cafe at the Borghese park and I got very sick and had to pass on the tour. We took a taxi back to our B and B where I went to bed. When we cleed to reschedule the tour we had to pay another E40. So this tour was extremely expensive for us.

Rome Hop-on Hop-off Double Decker Bus Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

This bus tour was ridiculous. The so called guide made only about four comments on the entire tour and then in Italian only. When we drove past such site as the Colloseum, she never uttered a word. All and all this was a dismal tour unless you are just looking to ride a bus.
