Morning Maverick Horseback Ride with Breakfast

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 5 star rating: Highly Recommended

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

My Review:

This was my first horseback riding experience, and what it did was instill a desire to properly learn to ride a horse, well beyond the "follow-the-leader" trail experience. My horse, Dusty, is a playful but very well behaved horse! He knew a beginner when he got one! The trail ride was so much fun!! With only 3 other riders, our tour was intimate and our horses walked through the Red Rock Canyon trails where we saw so much greenery. Who'd have thought that there was so much water just below the surface of that part of the desert? Our lady guide was informative, and knew the canyon very well. She made the trip very interesting with info snippets along the way. The full American breakfast was good. Portions of everything were HUGE! There was a good-sized pond filled with ducks and turtles who know they will be fed by visitors with pellets, and we did not disappoint. The stable had several horses, all healthy and definitely well-fed. The ones who rode are all even-tempered, patient horses. Will definitely do another trail ride with this group, but will do the Sunset Horseback Ride, which I think has 90 minutes of riding.

Black Canyon River Rafting Tour

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 5 star rating: Highly Recommended

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

My Review:

AWESOME TRIP! We started at the Hoover Dam and wound our way downriver to Willow Beach. Our guide Dennis B. was knowledgeable, got good droll sense of humor, and pointed out so many interesting points along the river complete with his self-deprecating commentaries. You go, Dennis! Packed lunch provided came with sandwich, chips, cookies, and water. Plus, there was enough extra water on the raft. The cold water felt just the right cooness under the dry Nevadada summer heat. But Dennis gave us plenty of opps to get into the water too! We beached twice to splash and swim. The trip was 3.5 hours of fun, water adventure, and some education. The folks I sat with were simply pleasant company! Lots of opps to take pics throughout!!!
