Tghis was the last of 5 tours in Rome so I have a good frame of reference to judge. The tour was advertised as English. Not so. There were three tour guides on the bus each speaking a different language. One guide was for only 2 people speaking that language. So the descriptions given on the bus were necessarily SHORT to accomodate the 3 seperate descritptions. When we broke into groups off the bus, our tour guide did not have headsets. We had to strain to hear what she was saying to our large English speaking group. 'Paula' had no idea how many were in the group. She told us what time to meet and if we wern't there, oh well. She would assume we were staying at that location. There were headsets given in St Peter's Basilica but only because it was a silent place. She was disinterested in us as a group and could not have cared less about our safety or enjoyment. I have used Viatour in 5 different countrys. This was the first tour I was so very disappointed in. Thankfully, it was the last day of our trip so it didn't discourage us from the first day.

This tour was amazing. Our guide had a PhD in Archeology and Art History. it was like being in a lecture hall. She was so interested in every one of us. Asking our names, etc. She made sure we were all safe and accounted for before leaving a site. Her knowledge of the subject matter was, of course, impecable. What a wonderful experiemce. I will remember this guide and keep her in my heart joined to the ancient sites she introduced me to.

Dario was a terrific guide. He was so interested and interesting. The three hour bus ride was pleasant, educational and entertaining. His knowledge of the subject matter was intense. If he didn't know an answer, he would defer to the other guides in training on the trip. He provided safe and informative information at every turn. A true value. My only recommendation to anyone taking this tour would be to take some food along for the early morning ride as there is such a limited time at the rest stop. Same for return trip. You will be hungry and no time to get any real food. The lunch stop was wonderful as well. As always, it is the quality of the guide that makes or ruins a tour. Dario was top notch.(very adorable also).

My first tour in Rome and what a wonderful introduction. The guide was well informed and so interested in us as a group. She gave individual information on any question asked. She had time for all of us. The vision of the Sistine Chapel is burned in my mind and was embelished by the introduction as to what we would see by the explanation given beforehand by our guide. Very pleased.

This is a true value. We took the bus on our first afternoon after arriving that morning. It was a good place to relax and get an introducion to what Rome was all about. The ticket is good for 24 hours so starting in the late afternoon and using it again the next day made it a great value. You can stay on the bus for as long as you wish and get a feeling for the city before embarking ou your own. Price on Viatour was less than the purchase price in Rome. No issues with the voucher. Well run operation.
