Ephesus Sightseeing Tour

My Review

I have mixed views about this tour. It was incredibly good for the value (compared to the cruiseship tours). However, there is a LOT of walking in very HOT sun. I appreciated the airconditioned bus and the good tour guide who gave us tips at shopping/bargaining. Glad we had an umbrella but our calves tanned in the constant sun.
The best part was the Turkish lunch at the carpet making society.
It's too bad that we weren't able to shop more as it took the whole day (the entire time we were in port).
I also appreciated that they picked us up from the port.

This was a huge parade of people being shuffled from room to room in sweltering heat. The tour ends at the doors to the church but before you leave, make sure to go inside the church to go down the hidden staircase to the grottos. The exit will put you back to the Vatican giftshop which you have passed prior to the end of the tour - this is a cheaper giftshop than the one outside, attached to the postoffice.

Rome Segway Tour

Chose this so that my 60+ parents wouldn't have to walk so much at the colosseum. Though it was very enjoyable, unique and memorable, it wasn't quite what i expected. The segway tour does not go inside the colosseum, it takes you around the area (circus maximus, viewpoint of the forum, mouth of truth, garden of oranges, malta keyhole). You should prepare for 3 hours of being in the sun without the ability to seek shade, crossing major streets, going up and down hills and maneuvering around plenty of people and narrow sidewalks. Though we didn't have to walk, standing fr 3 hours took a toll on my legs and I'm 31! Our guide was great. Really took care of our safety, was very knowledgeable and understandable.

VERY glad that I booked this tour. The hardest part was finding the place. It is on a street that looks like an alley which has NOTHING on it. It was just a good thing I decided to walk up to see if the line of cars hid anything and that's when I saw the segways on the sidewalk.

Took the 48 hour option. This was good to get to sites that are hard to get to by tube as well as to point out what were the main attractions of Rome as I didn't do research as to what else to visit besides the colesseum and the vatican. The hardest thing was dealing with the lack of airconditioning in 30+ degree Roma. If you plan on staying up top, be warned of the hot sun and the peddlers trying to sell you hats/umbrellas.
