One Hour Elephant Ride at Krabi

My Review: This tour was very cool, it's done at a location where parts of the movie 'The Beach' were filmed. There's also a shockingly blue little watering hole that happens to be over 500 meters deep, a natural spring cavern or something like that. That little pond in itself is pretty mind-blowing.

My Review: This tour was INCREDIBLE!! The tour guide staff were attentive, friendly, funny, professional and very well-prepared. This was probably my favorite day of my entire vacation.

My Review: We were alone on a massive junk boat so it was kind of wasteful and a bit lonely. The guide also cut the boat ride short and told us we couldn't jump off the boat and swim in the bay, though he found time to stop at tourist trap souvenir factories on the drive out to Halong Bay and again on the way back to try to get us to buy stuff at stores he had obviously made deals with. When we told him we didn't want to shop, he and the driver got out of the vehicle anyway and stopped and had tea with the factory owners while my brother and I waited in the overheating car for 30 minutes. Vietnam is notoriously shady, but I expected to not have to deal with any of that on this tour since I paid American prices and booked through a reputable company.

My Review: Interesting tour - I'm very glad I chose it. Future visitors beware the hike up the mountain takes an EXTRA 2 beyond what the itinerary advertises because they seem to expect visitors to pay extra to take the lift to the top of the mountain. We took the lift up and got back exactly when the itinerary said we should have gotten back if we'd done the hike, though taking the hike would have actually put us back 2 more hours.

My Review: Kind of like a dance-history lesson. Not the most exciting or dynamic dance-form out there to me, but very interesting to see the evolution and mythology behind Thai dance.
