This was not a pleasant tour. When we arrived at Linderhof our tour guide and the palace tour guide had a verbal altercation regarding the number of people on our tour. This discussion should have been taken outside so that we the tourists did not have to listen to these guides squabble for almost 10 minutes. The palace guide did apologize to us but the Gray line guide did not. When we arrived at Neuschwanstein our guide gave us vague instructions on how to get to the bridge and the castle. She just pointed. I did enjoy visiting the palace and the castle but I did not like the guide.
I have taken tours in many countries and I must say that this was the worst Hop On-Hop Off tour I have ever taken! The guides were rude, did not answer questions, gave vague directions, and provided very little comment in English. It would have been nice if they had offered us earphones with an English script.
When I arrived for the tour I was informed that I had to pay extra because Fredericksburg Castle was also part of the tour. Everyone who had booked only the tour to Hamlet's Castle was told the same thing. Consequently we all paid extra!
This was a very emotional experience.
