Colonial Tramcar Restaurant Tour of Melbourne

My Review

The entire journey from start to end was a trip to remember. The service was as expected with considering that the tram was as full capacity for that day and the staff didn't have to to breath as we see it. Remarkably, they performed they tasks witha smile and that is to be appreciated. Food was great too and the time allowed for us to enjoy it was although being a short dinner, nevertheless was sufficient without us feeling being rushed. It would have made it a lot more relaxed if the short-dinner route could have been extended a little, maybe another 15 minutes or so to allow all onboard to properly allow their dinner to settle into the gut before exiting. If the route can't be extended, maybe driving a little slower would do the trick. To add to the excitement, during our journey a near miss occurred whereby some careless pedestrian / motorist almost got run over by our tram and if not for the alertness of the driver, the trip could have been a lot different, We all spilled our champagne then during the emergency stop but refills were provided with a smile. Overall, I would definitely go for seconds, maybe the long-dinner route next time.

Melbourne Sightseeing and Attraction Pass

My Review

We've signed up for the 3-day pass (without transport) and although it's albeit short, we managed to fully utilize the first 2 days when we kept to those attractions within the citi limits which most of which were within walking or tram routes. However, going to Philip Island for main purpose of the Penguin Parade was a disappointment when we had to rely on pulic transport which have rigid timeless and for those not planning to stay overnight, you would probably have to give the penguins a miss since the last VLINE couch out of there was well before the penguins hit land. We had to settle for the Koala Sanctuary which was miles away via taxi from the bus drop-off point. Churchill Island was also further still and also without direct connection with public transport except via taxi. Basically, to benefit fully, I would recommend staying with attractions within the citi limits, unless you have a rental with GPS if you want to go for those in the outer suburbs. Other then that, it is still value for money.
