Skip the Line: Venice in One Day

My Review: The tour packed quite a bit of walking, so be prepared. Also stay close to the tour guide, as the headphones were not that good in reception. The tour guide spoke clearly and slowly, but like similar tours in Europe for historical sites, expect lots of info provided. The boat ride (not gondola ride as hoped) was very nice as well, accompanied by a separate (yet just as knowledgeable guide). Overall this is a nice trip to take if it's your first time to Venice. Just beware of the crowd by the St. Mark's square on weekends.

Athens Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

My Review: Very good tour. We lucked out as well because there was a strike the day before, so Acropolis was closed!! As a result, the site was PACKED with tourists from the cruises (including us). Our guide Dorrina (not sure about the spelling) was excellent. She spoke slowly and clearly on all the explanations, and she even provided great instructions for our commute afterwards. Much appreciated for on our own travelers like us! I would recommend this tour to anyone on their first trip to Athens.

Istanbul Shore Excursion: Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar

My Review: We did not like this tour, as the itinerary was somewhat lacking. The Bosphorus cruise took up a majority of the tour time, but it was a ship ride across the coast, which is something that we could've done on our own. Our tour guide was not very talkative either, although he might have been drained from the same tour from the morning earlier (we were the afternoon ppl, two of us only!). The Istanbul Bazaar (not the Grand one) was interesting, but again we could have been on our own. Overall, I think the itinerary is something you can do on your own, but nice thing is that you get a ride from the ship. Definitely look for a similar tour that has the Palace and the Cistern, but you can skip this tour.

Naples Shore Excursion: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour

My Review: Excellent tour overall. Our first guide, Maria, took us for the first part of the trip, a city tour of Naples. Then we were driven to Pompeii and assigned a second guide, Georgio. He was great in presenting the ruins' info in a fun and informative manner. His guided tour allowed us to appreciate the ruins more than by simply walking through the ruins by ourselves. We fully enjoyed the time in Pompeii as a result. This tour includes picking you up from the port city, so it's a great choice if you are on a cruise that has Naples as one of the port cities (like we did). I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Tickets

My Review: We took this "tour" so we can avoid the long wait to the Vatican museum. The guide was punctual and took us in within 15 minutes. Expect no tour guides to take you around once you are inside the Vatican, though. I would recommend this if you are on a tight time line, especially those who are only at the the city for less than a day.
