I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Haulien to visit Taroko National Park. The guide [Josephine] was knowledgeable and entertaining.

It would've been better though if we skipped the marble factory and the beach to allot more time to hike - specifically, to do the Shakadang Trail.

Also, maybe indicate in the website the option to extend stay. There was a couple in our group (booked by a different company) who stayed behind and booked in a hotel. If I knew this, I would have opted to stay too and do the trails. (Permits are required for the trails).

Our guide was friendly and entertaining. He picked us up on time and drove to Keelung.
There are lots of people - both locals and tourists - during the weekend. Best to time the visit during weekdays.
Also, check out the market for the lcoal fare.

I felt rushed in this tour. We should've spent more time in the National Palace Museum than the Handicraft store.
Also, we were unlucky with our guide. He wasn't giving us information about the historical significance of the monuments. Also, at the Martyr's Shrine, he told us "I'm here everyday, just walk own see the shrine at the other end."

Our guide was excellent! Very informative and helpful. At the Lung Shan budhist temple, he helped us go through the ritual explaining each step and in fact, translated the Kuan Yin oracle.
I didn't feel rushed at all especialy while walking through the night market. I was even able to try the delicacies.
He was also very informative in Taipei 101.
