I was somewhat disappointed by this excursion. At the outset it was not explained that the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area comprises several national parks adjacent to development corridors and private sector facilities. Scenic World was in fact on private property and not national park land.
The guide, was prone to dreadful exaggerations such as "this is the only intact ecosystem on the planet" and slightly dismissive. I asked about scenic world and was told it was private land but it was managed as a park and that it was too complicated to explain. As a consequence I found it difficult to find him credible.
I thought the meals were poor and at the very least lunch should have included one beverage other than water.
At best it was a pleasant scenic drive, at worst an overrated excursion from which I learned almost nothing.
This was an exceptionally fun afternoon. I was part of a small group which ensured that we all had an opportunity to perform "crewing" functions. The crew were all highly skilled and conversational. They were also able to explain and share information on points of interest in and around the harbour.
