Water Puppet Show with Buffet Dinner from Hanoi

Hanoi, Vietnam

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Totally recommend this show - we went not sure what to expect but it was one of the highlights of our stay in Hanoi. Though we could not understand the whole story (told in Vietnamese), the puppets and the whole play were so lively that you know (or guess!) what is happening quite well. This is a small theater, very intimate and we were lucky to sit up close. We were happily surprised to hear live music and singing, which really made the whole evening memorable.

Cappadocia Balloon Ride and Champagne Breakfast

Cappadocia, Turkey

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
A must-do in Cappadocia! From the pickup to the pre-flight breakfast to a top-notch pilot to the Champagne glass at the end, it was perfect from start to finish. Our pilot was amazing, and though he kept saying there is no steering wheel on a hot air balloon, his dexterity in maneuvering the balloon was astonishing. Getting so close to the rock formations one could have touched it, going in and following the path of the canyons, around and above the Fairy Chimneys, was a once-in-lifetime experience. The operation is flawless too, we felt safe at all time, they even have staff on the ground monitoring all balloons at all time. The tour finished by a high altitude portion, given us the opportunity to take in the whole region. Don't go to Cappadocia without doing a hot air balloon ride and this tour is the one to do!

6-Day Small-Group Turkey Tour from Istanbul: Pamukkale, Cappadocia, Ephesus and Hierapolis

Istanbul, Turkey

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
A great trip experience, well organized, from pickups to guides to selection of hotels. It was the best way to see so much in a short period of time, and we had a blast. Ephesus was a great introduction to Roman time, and Pamukkale impressive by its travertine turquoise pools but also by the size of the site - try picturing it when all buildings were up, it must have been gigantic! Cappadocia was must-see and am glad we spent several days there - definitely worth it. The hike around Red / Pink Valleys was a nice surprise and is very easy. You have a couple of up and down, but nothing hard, and we took our time to get there. My father-in-law was very glad he did it. The most surprising though were all these churches carved in the rock formation, and we were amazed by the beautiful and vivid painting we saw - some very basic, and some as beautiful as some you would see in middle age painting in Europe. The Open Museum in Goreme hosts some of the most amazing ones - don't miss the Dark Church! A top notch tour, totally recommended to get a great view of Turkey!

Turkish Bath Experience in Istanbul

Istanbul, Turkey

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Just by entering the beautiful historical building, you feel in a different world. After we changed, we got into the hot Hammam area - it was not as hot as I thought it would. It's all white marble top to bottom, and very clean. We were first left to water ourselves down, then brought to the central marble piece, where we go the scrubbing. Be ready, this is quite surprising (and a bit hurtful) first but then you wonder how come you don't do that more often as you feel so clean and reinvigorated. We had upgraded to a massage as well while on site, and this really completed the experience perfectly. There were not that many people so it was a definite intimate experience, and from the majestic building to the full attention and treatment from our masseurs, it was perfect! You can't go to Istanbul and not have a Hamman, and Hamman Cagaloglu was the perfect choice!

Eat Like a Local: Istanbul Food and Culture Tour with Dinner at Local Family Home

Istanbul, Turkey

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
We met out guide close to the Sultanahmet station and headed through the Hippodrome to less touristy part of town. Going up the building, we met our host for the night, together with her kids and friends who were helping her for the night. We all sat on the floor on cushions, the 12 of us eagerly awaiting the festivities. We were first served with some yummy lentil soup and bread, followed by rice and aubergine stuffed with meat. All the meals were very tasty, definitely home-made quality! Our host then served us with Turkish tea, which ended our dinner. She was very friendly and made us feel at ease in her house. Though we could not communicate properly, her genuine smile, together with hand-gestures, was more than welcoming. I sneaked into the kitchen to see her realm, where she did cook our delicious meal and get tea ready! Her kids being there made it out all very lively too, as eager to learn about us as we were to learn about them, We then headed to another part of town for a shishah evening - it was fun to see the waiter preparing and showing us how to use the narguile. Can't say I did a good job at it, but definitely tried and it was a good laugh and experience. Would definitely would recommend this tour

Whistler Day Trip by Train and Floatplane from Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
This is one of a life-time experience! We were lucky with the weather - a sunny day perfect to enjoy the great views from the dome. Service was impeccable on the train, from start to finish – a nice breakfast, complementary drinks, and full attention from the crew. Once arriving in Whistler, we took the Gondola up - views were amazing! A 360-degree panorama, snowy peaks all around. The Gondola is worth it, bringing you to the top of the mountains, and we hiked some of our way down – perfect combination! The Peak-to-Peak Gondola is really special and going from Whistler to Blackcomb is really neat. The return on the float plane was a great end – we flew by glaciers on the left, the sea on the right and even got a nice sunset over Seattle. Planes are tiny but comfy and pilots definitely know their way around. Totally recommend this tour to anyone!
