AMAZING!!!! If for nothing else, getting to see the "Last Supper", this tour is worth it. We had a great guide, she managed to translate the entire tour in German and English. It was impressive! We had headphones to wear on the walking part of the tour which made it really easy to hear everything. The first part of the tour is a short bus ride, followed by a walking tour outside the Duomo and through the shopping area. We did not go inside at all but we did this later in the afternoon on our own and I think I prefer it this way. A huge portion of the walking tour was in the Opera House which I didn't realize. I'm not a fan of the opera but it was alright. Then more time on the bus. Then we walked around outside the castle. (Again, we went back later and visited some of the museums here.) Then back on the bus and to the "last Supper". All in all, a wonderful experience!
This tour had potential but it was one of the worst I have ever been on because of the tour guide. He walked so fast it was impossible for me to keep up. Ido walk slower than most people, but there were 25 in the group and there were at least 10 that struggled. It was as though he was trying to cram too many places into the time limit. We didn't even end where we were supposed to (which actually for us was better because it was at our hotel.) At times he'd cross the street and leave half the group behind and barely noticed. He'd sometimes start talking at the next location before everyone was there. And he didn't speak loud enough to be heard by everyone over the street noise. The information itself was really interesting but I didn't feel like we went to some of the really important places and I'd have no ability to go back to any of the places he did take us, except the Haufbrau Haus. I would not recommend this tour to anyone who isn't a speed walker. (It's my own fault though - I read other reviews that said the same thing and I didn't believe them.)
We've done many of these tours in various cities and in comparison, enjoyed this one the least. First, everything you really want to see is pretty much within walking distance so I'm not sure the transportation part is really worth the cost. And the bus itself was old, uncomfortable, and didn't work properly. The location of the audio plug-ins was such that the headphones would not reach from both seats most of the time. And for one of the loops, the English on mine would not work and there were no empty seats so I couldn't move. If I had it to do over again, I think I'd skip this tour and opt for something different.
This was one of the best tours we have ever taken with Viator! Of course, you must like to drink beer. If you are just interested in the history and want to taste a couple, go to the Beer Museum on Grand Place. Our guide, Jan, was amazing! Very knowledgeable and fun. You will go to several locations and try preselected beers, sometimes with food. On the tour, you will get 8. I hated a couple, enjoyed most, and loved a few! You will get to learn about some of the history of Brussels, not related to beer, and some things you should know about beer if you are going to go drinking in Brussels. After the tour, most of the group went to one more place and had another special beer that was great fun. WARNING: You will feel it! The beer is much stronger than you might be used to! My suggestion is to never have more than 1 glass, even if you really like it and to not drink the stuff you don't like. Really great tour!
