Amazing place. Guide was a qualified archaeologist and had insightful as well as interesting things to say about the history, structure and demise of the Colosseum. We had a small delay in getting into the Forum area, but it was a system failure that affected everybody. Doing an officially sanctioned tour is the only sensible way to proceed. Without a proper context, all you see is an, albeit amazing, pile of ruins. With a good guide and your imagination, one is transported back tens of centuries.

Excellent. No queuing, A good guide. Could have done with a little more time to absorb the surroundings, although we did have 25 minutes in the Sistine Chapel. It is, nevertheless, definitely the way to see the Vatican.
