San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise

My Review: Despite cloudy damp weather, it was a wonderful experience. On a slightly clearer evening it would have been a spectacular sunset. Passing under the Golden Gate Bridge after having crossed it on foot the day before was a real thrill for me. Very nice, ample buffet provided and a local musician provided some entertainment. Not sure if that is a regular occurrence, but enjoyed it.

San Francisco Hop-on Hop-off Tour

My Review: Did a ride-around the first day and went shopping at Union Square. On the second day, we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge on foot and caught the hop-on on the Marin side--VERY long wait, but one of the three buses they usually have running had broken down. Did a tour of the CA Academy of Science and, when done, were able to hop back on a few minutes later to return to point of origin. Enjoyed tour guides' commentaries on both days.

Muir Woods, Giant Redwoods and Sausalito Half-Day Trip

My Review: It is a nice tour, but I wish I'd looked into a full day tour because 1 hour and 15 minutes is not nearly enough to devote quality time to the amazing beauty of Muir Woods. Enjoyed the visit to Sausalito, appreciated the option to part from the tour there and take more time before catching the ferry back to the San Francisco Ferry Terminal, which was right across the street from our hotel.

Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias Trip

My Review: Amazing trip! Sadly, conditions were too icy for us to go see the giant sequoias. Larger vehicle or smaller group might have been nice; my daughter and I were crammed in the back of a very full van, but it was so worth it to see such a magnificent place.

My Review: My money was well spent! The convenience of being able to just flash the pass on MUNI made transit so easy. Also used four of the tickets--Aquarium of the Bay, California Academy of Science, De Young Museum, Blue and White 1-hour Bay Cruise--which more than paid for the book, and bypassed large ticket lines.

Andalusian Dinner and Flamenco Show in Barcelona

My Review: Lists as 5 hours, but actually three, which was much better. Arrived a little early but were seated immediately. Food and sangria were excellent. Sat near the stage, enjoyed a superb show.

My Review: Priority seating wasn't really necessary at noon since lunch is usually later for the locals, but it was very nice to be seated immediately. Menu was pre-planned fewer choices. Great atmosphere, very nice wait staff. Totally enjoyed it!

Barcelona Gothic Quarter Morning Walking Tour

My Review: Pleasant English-speaking tour guide. Small group three of us, so no need for audio assistance. Tour was a bit dry but worth checking out. Be sure to cover your shoulders if you want to go into the cathedral; sweater, jacket, or sleeves on top.

Montserrat and Cava Trail Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona

My Review: Another wonderful day! There were three of us and we decided to stay together. After a visit to one of the roadside tables, where we tried a blend of soft cheese and honey, we hiked one trail across to a cross that looked to be miles away--only 25 minutes on a paved path mostly uphill, but not too horrible. We made it back in time to hear the choir extraordinary, but the line to the Black Virgin was ridiculously long so we took a pass on that. After the choir sang we had time to hit a gift shop and grab a bite of lunch hot food line was exceptionally long, predominantly cold food line not so bad before we went to the winery. The drive through the mountains was spectacular, parts of the mountain looking like people were carved out of it. Pleasant winery tour, dry cava. Overall wonderful day.

Pyrenees Mountains Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona

My Review: There were three of us on this tour. Our guide was very funny and informative. Scenery was terrific. Rather surprised when we reached Nuria by cog rail train it's a ski resort. Enjoyed the hike down and the different style of cross at each of the stations along the way.

Tarragona and Sitges Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona

My Review: Four of us went on this tour. We walked across the aqueduct, then walked around Tarragona. Our guide was very attentive and gave us the option of going on our own or going with him. Made a side trip on the way to Sitges and stopped in a small town where they were having a festival where the people competed in teams and cooperated with one another to build "human castles". Sitges is worth a return trip on its own--beautiful natural beaches! Enjoyed a lunch at a lovely Argentinian restaurant across the street then spent an enjoyable couple hours at the beach.
