you may not hit lucky but our guide was very knowledgeable and made the trip excellent for the kids; make a day of it if you can to enjoy the cafe etc and revisit the best birds.

the only gripe is that the tour guide didn't give us enough time to walk the park leisurely. inside the park the experience is fantastic and could easily occupy two days.

the weather didn't help but the trip was not long enough to see that many islands. also the trip was not busy so that the craic was none too good on the boat.

to do both in one day may seem hectic but is worth the effort as a lot of time is spent in the travelling and gives a good tour of the tourist side of rio.
