A very worthwhile tour guided by a knowledgeable man who Leroy knew his Gaudi history. To skip the line and have various aspects of Gaudi's life and work explained was well worth the price.
This trip was offered by Viator as an alternative to the larger groups organized by the cruise line. What was quite a nice day was ruined by casualness which almost had us missing our ship departure time. Our driver Guiseppe turned up on time but had limited English and although we spent some time explaining that we wanted to be back on board at 1700, his acknowledgement was not very convincing. The tour took in Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Rovello. Although there were only two of us in the car, commentary was non existant. Lunch was not included but instead of being given enough time to grab a bite to eat in Amalfi, we stopped at a cliff side restaurant where we had no choice but to,eat and pay for more than we wanted. Our big issue was the schedule, which we would have like to alter but could not make ourselves understood. Too much time in Sorrento, where, we explained we had been before. To long over lunch at the expense of more time in Amalfi which is charming. Finally we we stopped for half an hour in Rovello and did not leave there until 1615. Consequently, we arrived in a panic, after the 1730 deadline. Pros: Comprehensive coverage of the famous Amalfi towns and coastal view, small groups, on time pick up; Cons. Driver had very limited English skills, no opportunity to vary itinerary, no choice for lunch, insufficient time allowed to return to Naples port, This trip is good for those not on a tight schedule. The drivers stop in a lot of places not accessible to larger vehicles. Deserves a better rating but the poor communication.and the stress of the final rush back to Naples took the shine off a pleasant trip.
We were pocked up ahead of time at cruise terminal in clean modern minivan. Total 10 persons. Omar our guide was very knowledgeable about all of the locations visited
He made sure that the tour was structured around what everybody wanted to do and the departure time of the ship. In spite of huge crowds, he managed to get us into he venues with a minimum of fuss and we were back at the ship in plenty of time. Tour included a pleasant lunch at a harbourside cafe.
This was an excellent day out and the tour recommended. Five stars.
Night Tour with dinner, Picked up on time in very clean and modern minivans. Dinner was fun. Large crowd treated to a range of dancing acts from folk dancing to belly dancing. Meal was enjoyable and we were picked up and dropped of back to the ship. This tour could be enhanced by the addition of a short tour to see some of the floodlit buildings. The advertisement suggests that his is actually part of the tour
This service was waiting at the port gates when we arrived on a cruise ship into Pireaus. The young man who took our voucher and issued the ticket was extremely polite, spoke excellent English and explained the routes available to take. We took the blue route to the Acropolis and took the red route around the city before reconnecting with the blue route back to the port. The bus ran on time and as usual with these tours the commentary was excellent. A great way to quickly acquaint yourself with Athens and ideal if you intend revisiting the points of interest
Although we were jet lagged, the only criticism of this tour was that it was perhaps a little drawn out. The guide was extremely informative and coped admirably with four different languages. A good introduction to an enchanting city.
