Woodbury Common Premium Outlets Shopping Tour

New York City, New York

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

Requires reconfirmation at bus company's office, although was reasonably smooth and bus picked up out the front. All good to Woodbury. Pickup was a disaster though. There are about 5 pickups within an hour at around 6. After that, there is one pickup at around 8, which people need to line up at least half an hour before to get on the 55 seat bus. After that, its 9:20, everything is closed and angry tired shoppers fight between themselves for seats on buses that may or may not come. Shopping experience is meh to boot.

Washington DC Day Trip from New York

New York City, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very well run, Washington is quite a distance from NYC, picks up on Park Avenue, multiple languages on several buses. Stops at a rest stop in Delaware both to and from. Get a good cross section of Washington landmarks, unfortunately misses Iwo Jima Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. Well ran, as much as can be done on a one day trip.

Viator VIP: Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial

New York City, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very well run, tour guide Jim was knowledgeable and entertaining. Organised at the Empire State Building, skipping the line is a great way to see the landmark. Be wary though, this is very early in the morning, and it can (and for us was) a foggy morning. Visibility was not great, but can see all of Midtown. The bus tour was whistle-stop drive across town. Intrepid was a pleasant surprise. Boat goes to Battery Park and tour ends at a restaurant next to Ground Zero. It is fast paced and done by 1. Giving time to see the memorial, explore downtown and get the boat back. I recommend getting the boat from the South Street Sea Port for good viewing of the Statue of Liberty. Boat does not go to the island though. Recommend, get to see everything in less than a full day, well run and professional.

Alcatraz and San Francisco City Tour

San Francisco, California

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Reasonably well organised, hotel pickups from Union Square, reconfirmation at Fishermans Wharf. Bus tour around San Francisco was good with a good guide, get to stop at lookouts. Shame the bus was not open roofed, difficult to experience Golden Gate Park and the rest of San Francisco behind glass. Alcatraz is an own-pace affair. Recommend trying to do Alcatraz in the afternoon and finish the day at Pier 43

San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise

San Francisco, California

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Very Good, the bay is rough, and the finger food is ordinary, but a great way to see San Francisco, Sausalito and the bridge at dusk. The 'complementary' drink is accompanied by the 'customary' handing out of the tip jar. Bar prices are reasonable and live music was well received.

Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam Day Trip from Las Vegas with Optional Skywalk

Las Vegas, Nevada

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

I cannot express enough how bad this tour was. The 7:30am start is a lie, the hotel pickup is not for your convenience. We reconfirmed at Bellagio, we were told our pickup was at 6:00am. We went down to the unventilated basement, bus turned up at about 6:30. You will not get an early start to the Grand Canyon. Every group is then taken to a warehouse in suburban Vegas, made to pay a 'reconfirmation fee' of $10 a head and forcibly upsold further additional tours by the sleazy operator. After about an hour or so, they split up the west and south rim groups, find some buses, which were fairly nice and comfortable and finally get going around 8. The bus drives to a suspicious rest stop in the middle of nowhere, and then shortly after everyone is made to change on to different (and clearly cheaper) buses to do the last dirt road drive to the Canyon. To be clear, the Canyon is amazing, tours are run by the local Indian population, it is well run and plenty of time to see everything, bar the helicopter tours. There are several helicopters, but are not particularly well organised. Some members of our group had their helicopter tours delayed, so EVERYBODY ELSE had to wait nearly three hours after the scheduled time to come back. Which meant (after the driver had is twenty minute smoke break at the rest stop of course) we did not get to stop at the Hoover Dam and saw it from the bridge at 30mph in the dark. Anyone who had show tickets booked missed them because of incompetence of the tour operator. The tour is cheap, but it is cheap for a reason.

Anaheim to Las Vegas Luxury Transfer Service

Anaheim - Buena Park, California

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Good, pickup from the Disneyland pedestrian gate, drinks for some reason on the bus. It is not a door to door service though. It finishes at Harrah's with nothing more than a pointing to the monorail or a taxi line, if you don't know Vegas this can be an annoyance paying a taxi to drive across the street.

Very good, get to see all up and down the strip and Fremont street and back to the sign. An open topped bus would be good, great tour guide.

The best way to do Disneyland, one day each park, do both night shows and stay close.
