The day started with a 3.5 hour bus tour of San Francisco with a very knowledgable driver who talked us thru the whole history of the city.....2 or 3 stops at Golden Gate Park and Lands End, fabulous views and many picture taking opp's. We then queued for and boarded the ferry to Alcatraz Isand, which was amazing...approaching it sent the imagination into overdrive and conjured up images of many movies and 'rumours'...The audio thru headset tour was great as one could do it at their leisure (using the start/stop buttons)...Alcatraz was very interesting and overall it is an excellent day out, great value for money, I highly recommend it. The trip was fantastic, we travelled from Dublin. Our driver was a really nice guy named Mike (famous Irish Chat show host) and having learned all about the Giant's Causeway in school (in Dublin) this was a fabulous first trip :) and my partner proposed to me when we were actually out on the windswept rocks. My summation? Fan flippin tastic :) xx
