Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Part of this tour is St. Peters. We booked the tour for Wednesday morning, and weren't informed until we arrived that the Pope holds an audience on Wednesday mornings in St. Peters Square and that we would not be able to see the basilica.
IF YOU KNOW THAT THE POPE HOLDS AN AUDIENCE EVERY WEDNESDAY MORNING IN THE SQUARE, MAKE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AVAILABLE FOR THE TOUR.
We were basically told that we can go stand in line with the thousands of other people if we wanted to see the basilica...so much for a "skip the line" tour.
Also, the tour is way to short to really see anything in the Vatican Museums.
On a positive note, the Sistine Chapel was beautiful and our guide was really nice and well informed.

Rome to Pompeii Shuttle Bus & Independent Day Trip
Rome, Italy
My Rating

First let me say that Pompeii was fantastic and totally worth the trip. However, this was a shuttle bus trip that we booked. The trip took 2:45 minutes down to Pompeii, and over 5 hours to return. This was due in part to traffic, but the worst part of the trip were the ridiculous "shortcuts" the driver was taking to get around the traffic. The shortcuts added at least 1.5 hours to the trip, making for a miserable ride back for all of the passengers. The chaperone was basically useless, spoke broken English, and contributed nothing at all to the trip except to pass around a book that she was trying to sell. I've been on Viator tours many times before and have had great experiences, but this one was terrible!!

Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour

The guide did a great job, and we really enjoyed the tour. Maybe we spent a little too much time in the Colosseum and too little time in the Forum and on the Palatine Hill, but all in all it was a great tour.
