A wonderful day out. At the black Madonna there is so much to see. A placeof prayer for us catholics. Time was short, though our wonderful guide granted us another half an hour on our request. At the Castle we could have saved time to spend at Cztochowa.

As Catholics and from Malta where Pope John 2 came twice, this tour was a must for us. The chapel of the Divine Mercy was also a place of great serenity where we prayed.

An experience which made us gaze with astonishment of how man never learns from this dreadful genocide experience and repeats them to this very day. we visited Birkenau at about sunset. Complete silence shook our bones and when you feel that you are tramping on the ashes of cremated prisoners that used to bespread as fertiliser is really a very hard experience. May this genocide be kept in mind by all who have power to prevent this happening again.
