My wife and I went on the Desert Safari on the recommendation of our daughter and i have to say, it was an absolutely superb day. We were picked at exactly the time we were told by our driver George, who really helped make the day special. He was very friendly and informative, pointing out various landmarks etc. on the 45 minute drive out to the desert.
The "dune bashing" was great fun, thanks again to George's excellent driving skills. When we booked the excursion, it did say that their would be food served at the camp in the evening and to be honest, we weren't expecting too much. However, the buffet that was put out was fabulous, with BBQ lamb, beef and chicken as well as salad, potatoes, vegetables, etc. Wine and beer, if you wanted it, was also very reasonably priced compered to other similar tours that we heard about.
We always avoid excersions when we're on holiday because the are usually a bit of a rip-off. However, i think this was one of the best £54 per head we've ever spent! We were picked up at 3 pm, have a great day, and were then dropped back where we started 9 pm.
If you're in Dubai, we would thoroughly recommend this trip and, from what we've heard from other people, you could do a lot worse than book it with Viator. You may be really lucky and get George as your driver.
