Amsterdam Walking Tour

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very thorough guide with lots of information. Very interesting. Highly recommend. It is a small company and very customer oriented, they want to be sure you are satisfied. In just a few hours you learn so much about Amsterdam, it is worth it!

Castles Tour from Copenhagen: North Zealand and Hamlet Castle

Copenhagen, Denmark

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Departure point was a bit misleading, since it is a bus on the street. Our guide tried to take a short cut that did not work, but we somehow made up the time. The travel to the castles goes through nice local neighborhoods and the beautiful beach, you can even see Sweden on the other side of the ocean. The tour is multi-lingual, but the guide did a good job at controlling the group, which we found is not always the case in these multi lingual tours. The highlight for us was Hamlet Castle, it was beautiful. Visit the dungeon, it is a must!

Historic Prague Walking Tour including King's Route and Charles Bridge

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Perfect if you have a short stay in Prague. We had only 2 days and spent the first at the Castle Complex. The second day we did this tour with the perfect timing to see the clock in action and a great pace. We were able to see and learn about the Jewish Quarter and Old City in half a day and leave Prague in the afternoon. The guide was very knowledgeable in the local history, art and arquitecture.

Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

It is not looking at the windows, but the history about the red district in Amsterdam that is interesting. The former prostitute at the Center will provide you with interesting information about how the system works, the legalities of the system and the requirements to be a prostitute, to be a client, and safe (or not) sex. It was a Spanish/English tour, but the guide did great at controlling the group and in the translations. We speak both languages and unlike other tours, she did state the same in both languages.

Salzburg Day Trip from Vienna

Vienna, Austria

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

We didn't like the tour company because this was our third tour with them during this trip and it was always late departing. The guide did his best and was actually pretty good at keeping us happy. I guess that being a full day trip, it was easier to make up for the late departure. County side and villages were beautiful and Salzburg was well worth the visit. I would have liked a tour company that was more timely, it is not every day that we are in Austria.

Danube Valley Day Trip from Vienna

Vienna, Austria

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

A late departure tainted our Danube trip. And the tour itself was a bit disappointing. It felt "rushed" and that didn't make it memorable. The sights were breathtaking and for that I give it two stars.

Vienna Sightseeing Tour with Danube Boat Ride

Vienna, Austria

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

We found this tour company to be constantly running late. On this particular tour we had a late departure and were rushing through barely getting a glimpse (if at all) of the sights. Not only that, but the tour was multi-lingual. The guide said only three languages, but he did not control the time and by the time he may have reached your language the sight had been long gone (maybe the rushing element since we were late). Again, we took three tours with this company and it was always late!

Szentendre Half Day Sightseeing Trip from Budapest

Budapest, Hungary

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

Better to do it on your own. We had only four people in our group, two Italian ladies, my husband and myself. Although the Italians were fluent in English the guide decided to make it a bilingual tour. For every 25 minutes of Italian, she would then offer a 5 minute English translation. We felt cheated, not only for the time difference provided to us from our tour companions, but our guide was slow on getting us along. We wasted valuable time standing on a street way too long starring at a construction of a new hotel, when we could have been at the village. Loved the village, cute and quaint, but just take a train from Budapest and then take the ferry back on the Danube. I sometimes like to book tour because I want to learn about the place, its history or whatever makes it unique, but we were getting the information in Italian, although we had booked an English tour. Therefore, it would of been cheaper on our own!

Budapest City Walking Tour

Good overview. Great guide. I just found it kind of short, probably because of the coffee break. I could have done without it. I love walking tours because you go from point to point in a flow and get tons of information. We got all that!

Chamonix and Mont Blanc

Geneva, Switzerland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Expensive, but loved it! Great experience for those of us from the south. The village of Chamonix was beautiful and being in the summer it was great with no crowds. It was actually hot down in the village, but that really changed once you got up there at the peak. Up there it was just breathtakingly beautiful and well worth it! Plenty of time is allotted for you to wander at your own pace. Lunch was ok for our standards (we are picky eaters and our standards are high), but good for being included in the tour. That also took away the pressure of getting something to eat in whatever limited time frame a tour provides in an unfamiliar territory. The only disappointment was that the glacier was closed and we didn't get so see it (but it was due to an avalanche).
