A very interesting and informative half day visiting the old monastery and the Vineyard.
The talk about the wines, harvesting and the methods were most interesting. The Wines, although I liked their premium wine, was nowhere near as good as most of our Australian Wines.
Had mixed nationalities, during wine tour were broken into 2 groups, English and French speaking. The monastery tour became drawn out with translations. English mainly had a couple of sentence of explanation, whilst the French seemed to get up to 5 minutes, naturally their heritage. However questions brought things to standstill for to 10 minutes or more. For the non speaking French, perhaps some of the questions could asked and answered as we walked, as they were not translated for our benefit.
Thoroughly loved this tour itself. Ghent was magic. The canal and Plaza in Bruges were fantastic.
However, our guide led us to a restaurant not included in the pricing of itinerary, but we were led in a way that this restaurant was first place seen. No other restaurants or cafes were mentioned, and was only when out on the street again that we noticed several places that would have better met our requirements.
The canal boat fare was a surprise, although can understand this not being included if weather does not permit.
There was only one chocolate store to get your sweets according to our guide.
(We felt like our guide was looking after his family and friends, particularly when there were so many choices.)
Enjoyed our Sightseeing Cruise, and the dinner and concert. The period costumes were a nice touch.
We had a great time touring around Copenhagen with our Copenhagen Card. Being able to use the trains made it possible to get out of the city itself and explore a little.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Hop On Hop Off bus as always is a fantastic way to get around and see places.
We were offered a promotional Night Lights tour with Light and Sound when we validated our voucher which we took. After having both the Red and Blue bus already, it was overload.
Nice to see Dubai by night with all its lights, but was a long drive to see the Light and Sound show.
