Venice Marco Polo Airport Link Departure Transfer
Venice, Italy
My Rating

This seemed to be the ideal way to get to Marco Polo Airport from Lido. In a word - Brilliant. The pick up was on time and got us to the Airport in plenty of time to book in. There was 6 of us on board and all agreed it was a great way to end the holiday. It is certainly the most unusual Airport journey we have ever had. Great value. Highly recommended.

Skip the Line: Venice Walking Tour with St Mark's Basilica
Venice, Italy
My Rating

Unfortunately we did not enjoy this tour as much as the others we went on. The reporting instructions were far from clear. Previously we knew exactly where the meeting point was but we were told to go to the Royal Gardens "Near to Saint Mark's Square" Luckily we were there early as it took me 40 minutes to find it having asked 8 or 9 people where it was. I felt the tour itself was a bit half-hearted and we didn't feel we learned that much. We were rushed around the Basilica in double quick time and were back out before we realised what was happening. It was extremely busy as you would expect but so was Rome and Florence.
To be honest I was glad when it finished and we could go and explore Venice ourselves.

Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade
Venice, Italy
My Rating

There was no organisation and no control at the meeting point. People coming late were getting in front of people who had waited. There was about 10 gondolas all leaving at the same time and there was a scramble to get the best seats. The first guy took our voucher and told us to go to the far side. When we got there the second guy asked for our voucher!! Needless to say we got the poorest seats. We didn't get far before turning back. I wondered about the serenade before realising the singer was in another boat. At least we can say that we travelled in a gondola on the Grand Canal in Venice.

Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour
Florence, Italy
My Rating

We did 6 tours in 3 Cities during our vacation and this was the best of the lot. Our guide Nadia was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she genuinely seemed interested in getting to know the group. The tour of Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa was outstanding. Lunch at the wine tasting farm was great and everybody, from all different parts, seemed to get along really well. Highlights were Siena Cathedral and the Leaning Tower - an awesome sight for the first timer. A great day out and well done Nadia.

Florence Half-Day or Full-Day Sightseeing Tour
Florence, Italy
My Rating

We did the full day tour as it was our first trip to Florence. Both tours were well worthwhile and both guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. The highlights of the day though were both in the morning. The trip to Piazzale Michelangelo and the stunning views from there were just superb. Seeing the statue of David in the Academia for the first time was fantastic and the guide explained the background brilliantly. Lunch was very enjoyable too. Not convinced the trip to Fiesole was of value but the afternoon tours of Florence and the Uffizi were both very good and very informative.

A fascinating and extremely worthwhile tour. It was well organised with clear meeting instructions. Our guide, Angela, was very enthusiastic and passionate about the subjects and delivered all information with a great depth of knowledge and with a fair degree of humour. The Colosseum was simply awesome. A great tour and a great guide.

Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
My Rating

An interesting day out but it was a lot to take on from Rome. There was some confusion over the pick up point. I could not get through to any of the phone numbers so I E Mailed the tour operator and my understanding was that we were to go to their office near Termini. On the day however, our hotel reception told us our pick up driver was at the hotel at 630am. Disappointed with the Naples part as there was not much to see except for a 10 minute stop to view the bay. Pompeii was the main purpose of the visit however and this was most interesting and fascinating. The local guide was very knowledgeable and informative.

Rome, Italy
My Rating

An outstanding tour. It was extremely well organised from the meeting point to the end of the tour. The guide was very informative and kept everybody together despite the sheer number of people in the Vatican on the day. It was wonderful to see so many iconic sights like the Sistine Chapel and having a guide to explain the history behind paintings and sculptures made it a really rewarding experience. Highly recommended.
