There are several options for getting from the airport to your hotel. This option is personal. No queues, no other people to drop off and not expensive. Our driver was right there on arrival [plane late] and we were quickly underway. Our young driver was helpful and informative and we were only 35 minutes to our hotel door. Couldn't be better.

Meeting at the Great [food] Market was an ideal place to begin this tour. We were alarmed when no one else turned up , past the meeting time but mightily relieved when our guide Edina showed up with a smile. Being the only two was amazing and probably most unusual again as we were there early in the season. However it is a tour where the numbers should be restricted to about 8, as all the information is conveyed whilst walking around the City. Those at the back of a line would miss out.[the special equipment Viator provided in Rome would help with larger groups]. We were fine however and enjoyed a large local pastry before a tram ride to near the wine cellar, literally under the road where we tasted a variety of wines providing a real education into this Hungarian 'secret'. We walked on around the Jewish Quarter and were presented to a local restaurant where we found the food excellent and generous . This tour was EXCELLENT VALUE for money and Edina was a really professional guide. A fair bit of walking was involved [in high temperatures more like July/August] which might not suit all but we enjoyed that aspect too.

Well organised and personal so as not to have to call round all the hotels as with the Shuttle service. Good value for money and efficient.

This tour was in two parts. "AM" was within the Vatican museum area including the Sistine Chapel. "PM" was three basilicas: San Paulo, San Giovanni in Laterano and Santa Maria Maggiore. We hadn't realised the "PM" tour would be 'outside' Vatican City. The two guides were excellent. Passionate about their subject, Francesca [AM] and Rachel [PM] made the many facts interesting, describing the context of what we were seeing in terms of the history of Rome. With so much to see in a limited time the guides had to be selective, and we felt that we saw as much as we could take in! Really liked their enthusiasm and knowledge. Will recommend these tours and these guides.

Sadly this pm was during the one day of very heavy rain in our week in Rome. However Toni was superb. She guided us through 4 hours of historic Rome, mostly outside. No one wanted to stop - the true measure of our enjoyment. Yes, we got absolutely soaked - so what?! We were fully taken up with the action AND the hearing device was excellent, enabling us to hear the voice of our guide all the time even if we fell behind. Perhaps this tour should have been am or started one hour earlier as we finished in the dark - it was mid November! This is the ONLY reason why we rate this 4 not 5.

Despite phoning before hand and confirming pick up time we waited more than half an hour before collection. There was much confusion at the coach boarding point too and when underway we were stressed! The tour was far too large. We value other Viator tours we have had in other countries where small nos have been a key positive. Not good. Our guide was knowledgeable but her style of delivery was not too good. Her English was poor and there was an 'undertone' to her narrative which was culturally unacceptable. The tour of the Schonnbrun Palace was very quick, possibly because of the crowds and the refurbishments taking place. Not a good experience for us, this tour.
