What a great day we spent in this cooking class. From the trip to the market, the purchase of ingredients, food preparation, cooking, eating and drinking wine it was a great experience. My wife and I came away with a very good understanding of selection of ingredients for Italian cooking and the importance of "slow food" in getting the most out of your meals. The staff were outstanding, all with strong English language skills and willing to help and answer all questions. This is a great way to spend a day in Florence, and you will come away with great ideas, recipes, and having had an excellent meal.
This is a great trip for those who like wine, beautiful countryside and excellent food. We enjoyed the visit to the vineyard and wine selections they offered. The travel to 2 small towns also provided us the opportunity to taste and buy local wines. Finally the meal at the end of the day was also good, especially combined with some excellent wine. This is not a traditional tour, as the guide only keeps the group moving...you venture out and taste the local wine and food.
This was a nice day trip, allowing us to see these two towns in the region. Our guide in Siena was poor, easily side tracked with issues of little concern to the group. It would also be better to charge enough so that every participant had their own headset, as it is very difficult to hear the guide. However, the sites were great which made up for any deficiencies.
