Paradise Cove Luau

My Review

The concert was great - the performers were all very good and it was an entertaining overview of Pacific island culture.
The rest of it was more down-market than I had expected - mai-tais made in huge punch bowls ladled out to everyone in plastic cups on arrival; long trestle tables with plastic garden seats for dining tables - all outdoors. Apparently they have 1,000 guests a night, which I hadn't expected. I guess that also accounts for the boring food, which I thought was at cafeteria level quality, and there was no choice.
If you go, pay the extra for the deluxe package - you will get preferential treatment and no queues anywhere. I hate hanging around in queues! I was very close to the front of the stage and could see everything clearly, which was worth paying for.

I thought the meal arrangements and logistics were amateur hour, but the sights were well worth seeing and the bus driver was knowledgable.

I enjoyed the cruise - it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours and view the Chicago skyline. The food was very average.

Chicago Walking Tour: Tiffany Art Glass Landmarks

My Review

This was an excellent tour, conducted by a knowledgable and friendly guide. I also did two other tours with the Chicago Architecture Foundation and would recommend them too. It's a great way to learn something about the character of a city that you'd never learn otherwise. I recommend very comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.
