Let's keep this short and sweet... I'm a married teacher with 2 cats who loves to travel, game, & read. I'm addicted to Postcrossing, television, and Dr. Pepper. I'm corny and klutzy and tend to make up my own words (i.e. Kerplode and Stressure). I'm a 29-year-old female Career and Technology Teacher at an awesome Frisco, TX High School who lives in a suburb of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex in Texas (USA) known to tell corny jokes. I met my husband, Kris, at my 18th birthday party, we started dating in December of 2000, and we married in Hawaii in March 2004 and bought our house three months later. I was lucky enough to marry into one of the best families ever, and I love them all dearly. I graduated from UTD in December 2001 with an Accounting and Information Management degree and worked as an accountant for three years, but I didn't find my calling until I began teaching in 2006. Travel is my biggest passion, and I have been lucky enough to travel to quite a few places both domestically and internationally. In 2008, I spent time in Seattle, Alaska, Canada, Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Houston, and San Francisco. If you haven't had the opportunity to travel much, but get to pick a spot, I highly recommend both Ireland and the Yukon. In 2009, I spent time in Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola, Bahamas, Tennessee, Washington DC, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Canada, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. In 2010, we spent time in Texas (staycations), Colorado, (LA and Anaheim) California, Spain, Monaco, France, Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Boston. In 2010-2011, we spent time in several states while driving from Texas to New York for winter break. We've seen 15 of the USA State Capitol Buildings in the last few months. We also spent 26 days in Europe/Asia going to England, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and The Netherlands! I can't wait for our next trip!

My Review

This tour is long, but it delivers all of its promises. For those concerned about meals, the stop in Kirkwall is perfect for grabbing lunch (I like The Reel), and they offer to have a sandwich prepared for you for the ride back for 3.5 GBP. The tour bus driver for the Orkney Islands portion is hilarious. I really enjoyed his playful banter and informative style. My husband said the lady leading the tour from Inverness to John O'Groats was informative as well, but I slept. I felt really ill on the ferry ride from John O'Groats to Orkney. Keep in mind that the waters are rough there, and, if you get motion sick, you should bring ginger or whatever works best for you. My PSI bands weren't enough for me.Seeing Orkney is really special, but I wish I had more than 6 hours. (Especially since you spend longer than 6 hours traveling there and back.)
