Danube Valley Day Trip from Vienna

My Review: The tour was well organised, and the beauty of the surroundings can only be experienced firsthand. We did not make use of the suggested restaurant and found a delightful eating place in Melk. The tour guide at the monastery in Melk was exceptional.

My Review: The tour was a bit frustrating in the beginning as sights were shown from the bus and we did not stop for photographs. We were taken to a specific restaurant and could not order what we wanted as there was not enough time for our order to be processed. To be taken to a shop to buy souvenirs was not what we wanted, but the rest of the tour was good. The tour guides had a good knowledge of the city and sights, and we were given an excellent overview.

My Review: What a pleasure to have our own tour guide and driver. Our guide really gave her best during the tour and her knowledge and love of the history and architecture of the area was extensive. She pointed out focal points for good photographs and was generally very helpful.

Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

My Review: None of the many pictures that I viewed prior to our visit could capture the exquisite beauty of the gardens. There was so much more to the tour than was given on paper. The windmill, chimes, pavilions and many other aspects just added to make this the most perfect excursion.

Kuala Lumpur Nature In The City Morning Tour including Butterfly Park

My Review: As with the Bata caves excursion, the "guide" was in fact a "taxi driver" that took us to the various venues and ensured entrance fee payments. We could just as easily have taken local taxis for a fraction of the cost. The butterfly and bird parks were exquisite and worth visiting as was the orchid gardens. The time of 3 hours to do all three was felt to be too short. The bird park could be an excursion on its own. It is a beautiful park and very big. The heat/humidity, even though it was in the cooler months, was trying and one was continuously soaking wet.

My Review: This excursion did not measure up to any of our previous outings in other countries. It was interesting to visit the Batu caves, but we were not taken to a pewter factory as indicated and the batik factory showed very little of the actual process. We were given a two minute explanation on batik and then expected to make purchases from the shop. We were taken to a white gold jewelry shop and again expected as tourists to purchase something. The guide was in fact a "taxi driver" who just dropped us off at the various venues, giving very little information. Also included was a visit to a Chinese temple which was not on the itinerary. The excursion was interesting, but not entirely what we had expected.

My Review: A wonderful way to seeing the city, but definitely not for only one day. I would advise that the two lines be done on two separate days as there is just too much to see and do. The staff regulating the buses were efficient and helpful. The dhow cruise on the creek was excellent. We were unable to do the walking tour as time constraints did not allow a stop. It appears that the route is continuously updated as we were pleasantly surprised at the extended route of going to Atlantis on the Palm, which was not indicated before. A worthwhile excursion.

4x4 Dubai Desert Safari

My Review: This excursion included several activities and was very enjoyable. The driver of our 4x4 was excellent. He was friendly and happy to answer our questions. He was also a very competent driver on the dunes. We had an English chap as the 4th person in our group. His personality ensured a very pleasant trip. The meal was outstanding and the staff friendly and attentive. The only negative I could mention would be the feeling of just make sure the tourists get a turn. The camel rides were very short as was the quick little turn at the sand boarding. However, there was no time to be able to extend these activities. A wonderful experience all in all.

My Review: Excellent service at reception at Dubai airport and assistance to vehicle. Due to rain and roadworks there were traffic jams en route. The driver became irate and swore terribly at a lady driver in another car as she would not give way to him. The driver was also unsure of the exact locality of our hotel and had he taken another route, would have taken less time.
